Marvelous Mosaic

Happy Monday! Can you believe it is the last Monday of June...and the last one of the school year for me...WAHOO!! I couldn't be more ready for summer break...it has been a long, trying year. We have so much fun planned for this summer, not the least of which is our EPIC trip of a lifetime, courtesy of Stampin' Up! We are leaving in less than two weeks for the Greek Isles Incentive trip and all of us are virtually buzzing with excitement! I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity for my family and I...we would absolutely NEVER be able to afford this on our own. I can't wait!!

Now...you stopped by to see a project, so I'd best get to it. This week I am featuring the gorgeous Mosaic Mood suite...

This is another one of those suites where the Designer Series Paper absolutely steals the show! Look at this beautiful paper...

Here's a card I made using several items from the suite...

There are so many things to love about this card. I started with some of the beautiful paper for my background and then used more for the horizontal element and yet another pattern for the circle behind my sentiment label. You truly can't go wrong with paper this gorgeous. Did I mention that this is specialty paper? It has a beautiful glossy sheen on one side of each sheet...so pretty!

I stamped my tree using Garden Green and Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla card stock. The focal image is stamped on a die-cut Stitched Nested Label. The sentiment is first stamped in Mint Macaron and punched using the Timeless Label punch. Then I re-stamped the image in Garden Green ink on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock and fussy cut it, popping it up with mini dimensionals when I adhered it to the punched label. I used a circle punched from another pattern in the Mosaic Mood DSP pack to ground my sentiment label. Here's a closer look...

As you can see, I added a Flower Faceted Gem for some extra sparkle and some 1/4" Textile Ribbon for added texture.

On the inside of the card I added a Very Vanilla panel on which I stamped another sentiment from the Memorable Mosaic stamp set in Soft Suede ink and a little flower in Mint Macaron. I added another strip of the same mosaic border pattern I used on the front of the card.

I will be demonstrating this and two other cards featuring this stamp set in tomorrow's special birthday edition of Tuesday Live @ Five. Yep...I'm turning another year older...haven't figured out how to slow down time yet! I hope you'll join me over on my Facebook page for some birthday fun, surprises and stamping using this awesome product suite. If you miss the live broadcast you can catch the replay or check out my Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page to watch the recording on YouTube.

Thanks for starting your week with me...I hope you have a great one!

Perennial Essence Suite

Happy Monday! Today is an extra-happy one for me...it's the last Monday of classes before the end of the school year! Just one more week of exams after this one and this girl is on holidays! Wahooo!!!
I hope you had a good weekend and were able to catch our Stamping Symphony team blog hop on Saturday. If you missed it, be sure to go back to my previous post to check out all the new product goodness that my incredibly talented stamping friends designed.

This week I am featuring the Perennial Essence Suite. I have to say, that the Designer Paper from this suite is my favourite paper EVER!! It is absolutely STUNNING! Like, I'm talking frame-worthy! It reminds me so much of gorgeous Impressionist art by Monet and Renoir of which I am a HUGE fan. I have every intention of buying some beautiful frames and creating some new decor for my home with this paper. Now, the suite isn't just about the paper, there are tons of other products that all coordinate beautifully...

I used ALL of these beautiful products on today's project...check it out:

Of course, I had to make the DSP the star of the show for this project. In fact, I used it for more than just the background! Both the flower petals and the leaves were all punched from different DSP patterns. I love the way it adds texture and variation to the leaves and flower. Here's a closer look...

I also punched some sprigs from the beautiful coloured vellum...I love the softness of the translucent paper. It all works together with the designer paper background. Solid images just would look out of place against those gorgeous floral images in the DSP.

I used one of the cute little fuzzy flower centres...those things look SO real!...and anchored my floral arrangement with a pearlized doily. I added some shimmer with some of the beautiful organdy ribbon and some frosted epoxy droplets.

On the inside of the card I stamped another sentiment from the Floral Essence stamp set and added a 3/4" strip of that beautiful DSP...I just can't get enough of it!

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others that feature products in this suite in this week's Tuesday Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page. If you miss the live broadcast, you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or here by clicking the Video Tutorials tab at the top of the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...have a fabulous week!

Pressed Petals Thank You and a Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday...or perhaps I should say happy BOGO-day! Today is my big, big BOGO sale where I give away new product from the annual catalogue of equal value to purchases of retired products from my sale. It is a crazy-popular event...doors open at 8 am and I typically have a line-up of eager shoppers waiting. I mean, who doesn't love free stuff, right?

Today also marks our monthly Stamping Symphony team blog hop...

This month we are all about new products and, since I'm focusing on the gorgeous new Pressed Petals Suite this week, I thought I'd share another project I demonstrated in this week's Live @ Five video...

This simple, vintage-inspired thank you card is made quickly and easily thanks to the gorgeous DSP and awesome washi tape. The sheet music DSP is crumpled, smoothed out and distressed with Soft Suede ink before being adhered to the Crumb Cake card base. I love the extra texture the wrinkles add!
Speaking of texture, isn't that linen-look label fabulous? That's more of the DSP, die-cut using the Stitched Nested Labels dies. It is so realistic, you pretty much have to touch it to see if it is actual linen! Here's a closer look...

Now, how about that pretty flower? Can you believe it is Washi tape?? This stuff is, hands down, my favourite new product. It is so fast and easy to create pretty flowers by just peeling each petal off the roll and sticking it down! If you haven't already gotten your hands on some of this tape, you NEED it. Trust me. The sentiment label is die-cut from Mossy Meadow card stock using the Petal Labels dies...another must-have in my book! I added a little Bird Ballad Trinket and some Braided Linen Trim by way of embellishment. Gotta love simple, but pretty!

For a demonstration of how I put this card together, check out my video...

Ready for more new catalogue inspiration? Hop on over to Sandy's blog to see what she's been up to!

Thanks for stopping by this weekend...see you Monday for my weekly feature.
