Beauty and Joy for Fall

Happy Monday! I hope you had a super weekend. Can you believe it is the last day of September?? Where has the month gone? Here in Southern Ontario we are definitely starting to look like Fall. The leaves are beginning their annual fireworks display and the nights are getting chillier. Soon it will be time for cozy sweaters and hot chocolate by the fire...I can't wait!

Today I have a decidedly Fall-themed card for you featuring and easily overlooked stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue called Beauty and Joy. Check it out:

This is another gorgeous set in Stampin' Up!s exclusive DistINKtive line and it is fast-becoming a favourite! So many pretty possibilities with this set! Check out this pretty thank you card...

Don't you just LOVE those pretty fall leaves? And the shading in those stamp images is all with just one layer of ink...how fabulous is that?? I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the basket, Early Espresso for the trunk and Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler for the leaves and berries. To create the two-toned leaves, I first inked the stamp with Crushed Curry ink and then dabbed on Cherry Cobbler using a sponge dauber here and there. The result is stunning! Here's a closer look...

Know whats REALLY cool? The colour that results from mixed Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler is very close to Cajun Craze! So, I used gingham DSP in Cajun Craze for my background and a bit of Cajun Craze linen thread as an accent. I love happy accidents like this! The yellow leaf accent was die-cut from Crushed Curry card stock using the Gathered Leaves dies. The background panel is embossed using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

I loved the look of the colourful leaves so much I stamped more inside the card. Doesn't that just make you want to jump in a pile of fall leaves??

I will be demonstrating this card and two others using the Beauty and Joy stamp set in tomorrow's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page at 5:00 pm ET. I hope you'll join me for the live broadcast, but if you aren't able to you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page later in the week. Just search for the video with today's date.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful first week of October!

Tidings all Around for Fall

Happy Monday...and happy first day of Fall! I don't know about you, but I am ready for cooler temperatures, sweaters, rustling leaves and evening fires. I absolutely love fall and everything that goes with it!

Today I have a fall-themed thank you card featuring the Tidings All Around bundle from the Holiday Catalogue. This bundle is for so much more than Christmas!

While the sentiments in this set are primarily geared for the holidays, adding the coordinating Seasonal Wreath stamp set makes it perfect for any season. I featured that set last week, so be sure to check out my Instagram feed!
This week's card features the stamped images from this set...

I stamped the wreath image in Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie ink, rotating the stamp slightly when stamping the Pumpkin Pie image, so as to allow both colours to show and making the wreath look full. The sentiment is from the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink. the images along the bottom are from the Tidings all Around set and are also stamped in Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie inks.

The little twigs and sprigs are die-cut from Crushed Curry, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake card stock, using the All Around Wreath dies. I LOVE those little sprigs for creating my own embellishments. I used a bit of Magnolia Lane linen ribbon for my bow.

On the inside  of the Pumpkin Pie card base, I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped more of the same grass and weed image from the front of the card.

This is a really quick and easy card, perfect for the upcoming fall season. I will be demonstrating it and two others using this awesome bundle in this week's Live @ Five video tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5 ET on my Facebook page. I hope you'll stop by and join me, but if you miss the live broadcast you can catch the replay on the Video Tutorials tab above later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...have a spectacular first week of fall!

Seasonal Wreaths

Happy Monday! You're going to get sick of me, posting two days in a row! I hope you enjoyed our Stamping Symphony blog hop yesterday...I am constantly in awe of the talented people I get to call my friends!
This week I am turning my focus away from suites and toward a single stamp set that, I fear, may get missed in the Holiday Catalogue. The Seasonal Wreaths stamp set is SO versatile AND it coordinates with the All Around Wreath dies, which are part of the Toile Tidings Suite. The best thing about this stamp set is it makes those wreath dies truly multi-seasonal. Check out the images in the stamp set:

I had so much fun playing with this set! I'm kicking off the week with a fall-themed card because, well, it's fall (and I'm still in love with the Come To Gather DSP!).
Check this out...

Here, I stamped the wreath image in Versamark and heat embossed it in copper. Then I die-cut it using the All Around Wreath dies and coloured it using Stampin' Blends. I used Dark Pumpkin Pie, Light and Dark Cajun Craze, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Cherry Cobbler and Light Crumb Cake. I also used both Light and Dark Crumb Cake to colour the sweet little bird.

I added some little twigs from the All Around Wreath die and die-cut a banner from the Christmas Cardinal dies. The little bird is fussy cut and nestled in amongst some leaves die-cut using the Gathered Leaves dies. The sentiment, which is stamped in Early Espresso, is from the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set. The only embellishment is a little Cajun Craze Linen Thread double bow.

On the inside, I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the complete sentiment from the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set and another little bird, both in Early Espresso ink. I coloured the bird using the Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends combo pack.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others using the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set in tomorrow's Tuesday Live @ Five video. I hope you'll join me over on Facebook, but if you can't you'll be able to catch the replay on my YouTube channel later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a fantastic week!
