In Good Taste

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a good weekend...and to my US readers...a happy Memorial Day. Around here the weather went from cold and chilly spring to hot and steamy summer like someone flipped a switch. We have heat warnings up and the A/C on in the house! Gotta say, I'm not complaining...it has been far too cold and miserable for far too long for anyone to object to a little heat and sunshine.
Now before I get to this week's project, I want to remind you that my 2020/21 Annual Catalogue Designer Series Paper Share is now open for ordering.

Choose a share of just a few DSP packs or ALL of them at a fraction of the cost of full packs. Deadline to order in the first round is June 2nd. I will have shares ready to go by the 12th. Click the image above to learn more and/or place your order.

This week I am continuing with my showcase of new products from the upcoming 2020/21 Annual Catalogue with the utterly yummy In Good Taste Suite. Now, I think Stampin' Up! designed these products specifically for me...they are SO my style! With fabulous textural Designer Paper, fun wood embellishments, a stamp set with awesome images images and sentiments and my new favourite embossing folder, this suite will have pride of place in my studio for a long time to come. Check out this card I made...

I started with a piece of the gorgeous In Good Taste Designer Paper for my background panel. I stamped several images from the Tasteful Touches stamp set in Smokey Slate ink to add texture and frame my focal point. Don't forget that DSP is paper and it is totally OK to stamp on it!

I used my new, go-to, Tasteful Labels dies to die-cut the Whisper White label and then stamped a sentiment in Smoky Slate and one of the awesome texture stamps in Blushing Bride.  To create my flowers, I first stamped them in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock and then sponged in Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose ink to colour them...using a dauber is a super-quick way to add colour to stamped images. After sponging the flowers, I fussy-cut them out using my paper snips. I die-cut one of the ferns from the Forever Flourishing set from Champagne Foil to add some additional interest. To create the silver leaves, I simply pressed two of the In Good Taste Elements into a Versamark pad, dipped in silver embossing powder and heated. Voila...instant metallic accent! This is super-easy to do and allows you to create metallic embellishments to perfectly coordinate with your project. The final touches on this design were some rhinestones and a spatter of Frost White Shimmer paint...so sparkly!

On the inside of my Rococo Rose card I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped more images and a sentiment from the Tasteful Touches stamp set in Smoky Slate ink.

You can expect to see LOTS more of the products in this suite used on projects from me in the coming weeks and months. This is one of those suites that does double duty, standing on it's own and coordinating well with other products. I'll be showcasing all of the products in the suite, demonstrating this card and two others in today's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook business page. I hope you'll join me! If you can't make the live broadcast, be sure to catch the replay on my YouTube channel shortly afterwards.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great week!

Forever Greenery Love

Happy Tuesday! Did you have a good weekend? It was a long weekend here and, although definitely different from a normal "May 2-4" weekend, it was still nice to have an extra day away from the grind of online teaching. This long weekend is typically the unofficial start of summer here in Canada, but we haven't even had spring yet! It is still cold and wet...so ready for some sunshine and warm temperatures.
The upside of the cold, wet weather over the weekend was that I spent lots of time in my studio playing with new products from the upcoming 2020/21 Annual Catalogue...did you know we are just two weeks away from go-live day?? SO excited!!! Starting this week I will be showcasing some of my favourite products from the demonstrator preorder...are you ready?
Check out this beauty...

There is so much to love on this card, I don't even know where to start! The stamp images in the Forever Fern stamp set are absolutely gorgeous! It is a DistINKtive® set, so the images have beautiful shading built right in...just ink and stamp...no colouring or 2-step stamping required! There are a lovely assortment of greenery images and lovely sentiments in beautiful fonts.  I used Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow inks to stamp my greenery. The little spatters are stamped in Sahara Sand, stamped off once.

Can we talk for a minute about those gold foil accents?? Those are from the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper and they may just be the BEST thing about this suite! Think beautifully detailed laser-cut accents that quickly and easily add WOW to any project...yep...they're THAT awesome! I see myself going through MANY packs of that stuff!
The coordinating Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack has two rolls of trim...this gorgeous, feather-light textured ribbon and a fine gold cord. Both are stunning and a much-needed addition to our ribbon line-up!

Look at how beautiful the stamped images are on the inside of my card! So pretty and EASY to create gorgeous, lush imagery.

This suite is one that is sure to be a best-seller when the new catalogue goes live. Be sure to put it on your Wish List! To see more of what this suite has to offer, be sure to tune in to my Live @ Five video this afternoon at 5 pm ET over on my Facebook page. I'll be showcasing the products and demonstrating this and two more projects using this beautiful suite. If you miss the live you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel shortly afterwards.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a super week!

A Fun Fold for Dad and a Blog Hop

Happy Friday!! I hope you've had a good week. This weekend is typically the unofficial start of summer here in Southern Ontario, as we celebrate Victoria Day with a long weekend and fireworks; however it would seem Covid-19 and Mother Nature have other plans. While some businesses are beginning to open up (which is GREAT news!) there will be no fireworks and the weather is most definitely UN-summer-like with cold temperatures and rain in the forecast. It sure would be nice if we could catch a some warmth and sunshine sometime before June! I can't remember the last time it was THIS cold on Victoria Day long weekend! Perfect weather to stay inside and craft, right? Well, my Stamping Symphony team has some inspiration to get your mojo working...it's time for our monthly Blog Hop!

Among the good news announced today is that golf courses will be allowed to open this weekend. I know that is cause for celebration for many...not only for the golfers among us, but also for the spouses of golfers who can't wait to get them out of the house for a few hours ;) Here is a golf-themed fun-fold featuring the Country Club Designer Series Paper...

Now, I am not a golfer and no one in my family really is into it either, so I didn't purchase the other products from the Country Club Suite, but even with just the Designer Paper, it is possible to create a fun golf-themed project! One of the patterns in the DSP features beautiful line-art images of golf scenes. They are sized to cut perfectly in to 12 3"x 4" pieces from each sheet. I used one of the Stitched Rectangle dies to give mine a decorative border and it is absolutely perfect, even without adding a stitch of colour.

Now, can you spot the sneak peek of a new product from the upcoming catalogue? Check out those die-cut labels! They are from the new Tasteful Labels dies and the are AWSOME! Each new catalogue I seem to gravitate to one new die set and for this cataloge, these label dies are it! They are a great size for larger images and sentiments and have lovely detail on the borders. Here I die-cut one from Garden Green card stock and one from the same Designer Series Paper I used for the base of my fun fold.  I used the Well Written stamp set and coordinating Word Wishes dies to create my sentiment.

What I love about this fold is that it holds a little secret pocket for a gift card! Check this out...

I love when I can sneak a little treat in my cards that I send out. What dad wouldn't love a Timmie's gift card in his Father's Day card??

This fold is super-easy to make and uses up that gorgeous DSP you've been hoarding! It's time to cut it to make room for all of the NEW, beautiful papers in the upcoming catalogue. Believe me, you'll thank me for easing your guilt about buying the new papers ;)

To learn how to make this card and two others that feature beautiful Designer Paper, check out the video below. Then, while you're on my YouTube channel, be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a thing!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to hop on over to the other blogs in our hop to see what amazing things our talented team has come up with:

Have a great weekend!
