Painted Christmas Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. Can you believe that today is the last day of November?? The countdown to Christmas in on and time is running out to get your Christmas craft projects finished up. Today I have some inspiration for an easy take on an easel card using the beautiful Painted Christmas Suite...check this out:

fun fold christmas card

This centre-fold easel card starts out as a standard 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base and, with just a couple of extra cuts and an extra score line, ends up as a pretty fun fold that displays beautifully on a table top or mantel.

I used Designer Paper from the Painted Christmas pack that features a traditional red-and-green colour palette and beautiful watercolour-look images. The sentiments are from the Christmas to Remember stamp set, which is also part of this mega-suite. The ink colours I used included: Early Espresso, Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz, Just Jade and Real Red.

Both of the sentiment labels and the horizontal red label were die-cut using the Seasonal Labels dies...if you haven't scooped those up yet, you need to! They are fantastic and coordinate perfectly with the Christmas Season stamp set.  The gold foil elements are from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack in the Annual Catalogue. I love how quickly and easily they add elegance to a project!

The only embellishments I used here are some gold metallic pearls and a cute bow made from Real Red 3/8" Sheer ribbon...I am SERIOUSLY going to miss that stuff when it retires in January!

Gingerbread & Peppermint & a Fun Fold!

Happy...er...Monday? Yep...I'm posting a day early this week to coincide with our monthly Stamping Symphony blog hop! This month we are all about the holiday season with projects to inspire your Christmas crafting. One of the things I love most about the holidays is all the yummy TREATS. I love to bake the holiday season gives me license to make tons of tasty sweets that I don't make throughout the rest of the year. The Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite from the Holiday Mini is perfect for bakers like me...or for anyone who enjoys Christmas goodies! Check out this fun fold card I made that speaks to the heart of the baker in me...

fun fold pocket card

Is that fun??  This is a super-easy fun fold...the card front just has a couple of extra diagonal score lines to allow the creation of a pocket on the front flap. I added some images die-cut and fussy-cut from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Paper, as well as some die-cut kitchen tools made using the Cookin' dies. The scalloped white border is from the Penned Petals set and the label is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Now, before I go any further, I HAVE to mention that all of those die sets will be on sale for 20% off this week during the Seasonal Sale! They are must-haves in my book, so you'll want to check them out and snatch them up at this fantastic price! The sale runs Tuesday. Nov. 16- Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021. Check out my online store to grab your sale items today!

Now back to my project...I love a card that is different from the norm and this one totally fits the bill. As mentioned above, it is SO easy! I'll be demonstrating it in this week's Tuesday Live @ Five episode over on my Facebook business page.  Join me live at 5 pm ET or catch the replay later that evening on my YouTube channel. While you're there be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a single episode.

I have to say, that if your budget only allows one thing from the Gingerbread & Peppermint suite, it MUST be the Designer Paper. It. Is. Awesome! All of the images on this card, aside from the stamped sentiment are cut from the DSP! It really is all you need, as you can add other sentiments and create sweet holiday projects that everyone will love.

Whimsy & Wonder

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a good weekend and that your week is off to a great start. I spent lots of time in my studio this weekend designing projects for upcoming events, a perfect way to spend a weekend, right? I also had the opportunity to play with the products in the Whimsy & Wonder suite and have absolutely fallen IN LOVE with the fabulous specialty Designer Paper. So this week, while I will be using products from the entire suite, my focus will be on the DSP. With that in mind, check out this fun project...

collar fold card

This fun fold is called a Collar Fold and is super-easy to make. The best part is that it showcases both sides of the beautiful paper, so I didn't have to decide which side to use...gotta love not having to make hard decisions! The panel on the inside of the pocket pulls out to reveal a pocket to hold a gift card. Now, I didn't have a gift card in my studio to add for the photo but trust me, it fits neatly in the DSP pocket behind the sentiment. I can write my message on the panel or add a second white panel to the back side if I want room to write a longer note.

collar fold card

My favourite thing about this card is the focal image ont he front of the pocket. Talk about showcasing the Designer Paper! I punched the label out of one pattern and then fussy-cut the ornaments from another. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver, as are the ornaments on the inside panel. I coloured the ornaments on the inside using Stampin' Blends.

The white glittered organdy ribbon is the perfect touch to add a little bit more iridescent sparkle...I SO love that ribbon!

I'll be demonstrating this project and two others using this gorgeous suite of products in today's Facebook Live @ Five video over on my business page. Set a reminder to join me live at 5 ET or check out the replay later in the evening on my YouTube channel. I hope to see you then! In the meantime have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by this week!
