'Tis the Season...

...for gifts and fun packaging! Today I have a cute little treat box I designed using a new sneak peek from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and some retiring Holiday Catalogue favourites.

Can you spot the new item? It is the silver gable box! These are simply fabulous and will be available January 3rd in the Occasions Catalogue. I couldn't resist decorating it using some of my favourite retiring products from the Cheer all Year Suite. I used a 2" x 12" strip of Year of Cheer DSP to wrap around the box and then added some silver 1/4" metallic ribbon. The sentiment is from the Oh What Fun stamp set and is heat embossed in silver. I used the 2" circle to punch it out and then layered it on a silver foil 2-1/4" circle. That all got layered on a gold foil snowflake. How I am going to miss those pretty snowflakes!

I decorated the top of the box with two green mini sprigs to which I added "snow" by dipping them in my tub of embossing paste. I hot glued them together, adding a silver mini ornamet and a silver metallic 1/8" ribbon bow. The best part is the box can totally be opened without destroying the decoration...gotta love that!

How cute would these be as favours for a winter wedding?? Image the couple's initials in place of the sentiment and voila...quick and easy favours. Don't forget that all retiring items are available while supplies last only, so don't wait to pick up those items you have to have.

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well. I still have a ways to go, as I am in the midst of concert season with my band at school. Looking forward to the end of this week when things wrap up and I can focus on getting ready for Christmas with my family! Have a fabulous week!

Merry Reindeer Wishes

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a good week...we are halfway to the weekend...wahoo!! I am super-excited for this weekend as I'm heading down to Virginia to spend some quality time with my BFF Michelle Suit. We're attending a leadership training event together and I can't wait. Lots to do over the next couple of days to get ready to go!

Since I am celebrating Christmas in July this week, I have another holiday-themed project using the awesome products from the Be Merry Suite in the Annual Catalogue. I know many people wait to start on Christmas projects until the Holiday Catalogue comes out, but there are many FABULOUS products in the Annual Catalogue for year-round Christmas stamping. Check this out...

I am a traditional kinda gal at heart when it comes to Christmas, so the colours in this suite really appeal to me. I used some Be Merry DSP for the background, as well as a strip of Wood Textures DSP for the rustic banner accent. The reindeer from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso ink on more Wood Textures DSP and the die-cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits. I layered the die-cut circle on a scalloped copper foil circle I die-cut using the Layering Circles Framelits.  I love stamping on DSP...especially these wood-grain patterns! I did the same for my greeting, stamping a sentiment from the Oh, What Fun stamp set in Early Espresso ink once again.

I think my favourite things about this card are all the little embellishment touches. I first added some die-cut pine boughes, but with the Pretty Pines thinlits, in Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz. Then I used a couple of stars from the Hearts and Stars Elements. Naturally, I glammed them up with my clear Wink of Stella ;) I also added some Pearl Basic Jewels that I coloured with an alcohol-based marker...I think the look a bit like berries. I used some Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double Sitched Ribbon for another pop of red.

On the inside, I added a Whisper White card stock panel on which I stamped a greeting from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set in Early Espresso ink. I added one of the garland images from the same set in Garden Green and then a few more little coloured pearls.

This one will likely find its way into my class line-up this fall...it's one of my fav's so far!

Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

Five Months From Today...

...is Christmas Day!! Sorry for that little reality check, but we crafters have to plan ahead! That's why I'm already playing with ideas for Christmas projects and cards. (That and the fact that once school starts in September I will be a VERY busy gal!) Tonight I'm hosting my sold-out Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack, complete with Christmas cookies and festive music. I thought I would share one of the projects we'll be making with you...

I used several products from the Be Merry Suite in the catalogue for this project. Aren't you glad that Stampin' Up gives us lots of great holiday options all year long? That cute little deer is from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set. I stamped him in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Wood Textures DSP and then die-cut an oval using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I then stamped some pine branches from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Garden Green ink around the edges and layered the stamped oval on a copper foil scalloped oval, did-cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits.

The Whisper White background panel is embossed using the Woodland TIEF. I then added a 1-1/2" strip of Be Merry DSP along the bottom edge and added some 1/4" Double Stitched Cherry Cobbler ribbon. I die-cut a couple of pine branches from Garden Green card stock using the Pretty Pines Thinlits and added them behind the focal image prior to adhering it to the front of my card using dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Oh, What Fun stamp set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. The only embellishment is a little star from the Hearts and Stars Elements.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink and more pine branches using Garden Green.

Now, today is also the day that we demonstrators get our first peek at products from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue. I can't wait to see what crafty goodness Stampin' Up has to offer this season!

Have a merry, 5-months-till-Christmas day!
