You're the Sweetest for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a good weekend. Mine has been an exercise in frustration as my iPhone crashed yesterday while updating it. After three hours of trying to fix it, I finally made a frantic dash to the Apple Store just before they closed. Thankfully, they were able to restore it AND all of my data. Lesson learned: go straight to the Apple Store the next time something like this happens! Here's hoping today is a much better day!
Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps...

Here is my yummy take on it:

I just love the images and soft colours in the Cool Treats Suite! Here I used DSP from the Tasty Treats DSP pack for both the background panel and the horizontal element. It doesn't really show in the photo, but several of the ice cream images are clear embossed, making them glossy. I used a colour scheme of Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and Mint Macaron to create my frozen treats. The cone and popsicle stick are stamped in Crumb Cake ink. The sentiment I used on the front of my card is from the Tasty Trucks Sale-a-bration stamp set.

I added a bit of Mint Macaron striped ribbon peeking out from under the DSP strip and added a lace doily to give more substance to the focal images. I added a little wooden heart embellishment and a few little sequins from the Sprinkles Embellishments.

On the inside, I added a Whisper White panel to my Mint Macaron card base and stamped the sentiment (from the Cool Treats stamp set) and another popsicle.

So many fun possibilities with this suite of products and with this sketch! Give it a try and then be sure to share it with us at Sunday Stamps.

Carousel Birthday

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend! Today marks the start of the second semester at school...officially half-way done the school year! Summer can't come soon enough for this tired-out teacher!
Today I have a fun, vintage-inspired birthday card for you.

One of the things I love most about Stampin' Up! is the way they offer suites of coordinating products that make putting together fabulous projects a breeze. This project features products from the Cupcakes and Carousels Suite, which is full of vintagey images and a fabulous colour pallette. Here I built my card on an Early Espresso card stock base that I embossed using the Festive TIEF. I layered a 3" x 5-1/2" piece of Cupcakes and Carousels DSP on top of the embossed card base.

The focal image consists of a Very Vanilla oval die-cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered on a scalloped oval, die-cut from another piece of Cupcakes and Carousels DSP using the Layering Ovals framelits. On the vanilla oval I stamped several images from the Carousel Birthday stamp set using Early Espresso, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay ink. I added some gold 3/8" metallic Sale-a-bration ribbon behind the layered ovals which reminds me of streamers at a carnival.

The sentiment, from the Suite Sentiments stamp set, is stamped in Early Espresso ink on yet another piece of Cupcakes and Carousels DSP. I used the Triple Banner punch to create the banner ends. The only embellishment I added, besides the ribbon, are a few Bermuda Bay enamel dots.

On the inside I added a piece of Very Vanilla card stock on which I stamped more images from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in So Saffron, Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso (the latter two were stamped-off once).

What's not to love about coordinating products when it makes pulling together fabulous projects so easy?? Click any of the images in the Product List below to visit my webstore and start creating with this amazing suite.

Crisp and Clean Avant Garden

Happy February! Earlier this week I showed you a project that made me fall in love with the Avant Garden Sale-a-bration stamp set and today I have another that I like almost as much.

Isn't that sweet? I love how crisp this project looks. I used some Succulent Garden DSP for the background panel...I love the cute gingham pattern!  My card base is Basic Gray card stock. I stamped my images in Basic Black ink on Whisper White card stock and used Sweet Sugarplum and Pear Pizzazz markers to colour the flower...super quick and easy!

I added a panel of Sweet Sugarplum card stock and a lace doily behind it. I love the combination of the gingham pattern and the doily...it reminds me of tea parties when I was a little girl. The only embellishment is a little mini paperclip and a wee bit of silver metallic Sale-a-bration ribbon.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the flower image again in Basic Gray. I left it uncoloured and quite like the simplicity of this look.

Talk about a quick and easy card...and to think I almost overlooked this stamp set entirely!
