Happy 75th Birthday

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. Today is my mom's 75th birthday! Because they live 4 hours north of us and are pretty much snowed in for the winter, I won't be able to see her today; so I made her a pretty card with lots of new products. Check it out...

I used products from the Sweet Soiree Suite in the new Occasions Catalogue. These products are FABULOUS! Sooo pretty and girlie! Now, my mom is anything but a girlie girl, but she really loves flowers, so it is perfect for her. Can you believe the only thing I stamped on this card is the sentiment??? Every thing else is from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit! Here's a closer look...

The cake, flowers, numbers and vellum accents are all from the kit, which made this card a snap to put together. I did use the Sweet Cake Framelits to die-cut the bow and the cake stand from silver foil. I also used my Big Shot and the new Petal Pair TIEF to emboss the Whisper White background panel.

The sentiment is from the Cake Soiree stamp set and is stamped in Berry Burst ink. I die-cut the label using the Petals and More Thinlits.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Cake Soiree stamp set in Berry Burst ink and then added another floral accent from the embellishment kit. Talk about a lot of WOW for not a lot of work! Good thing my mom doesn't read my blog and won't ever know just how easy this card was to make. She has already received it and LOVES it! Now, it's time to for a project...

 I used LOTS of new products from the Occasions catty here AND some fabulous Sale-a-bration freeibes as well. The background DSP is from the Sweet Soiree pack...betcha didn't think of doing masculine cards with THAT one, did you? I layered the DSP on a Basic Gray card base and then added a strip of Lemon Lime Twist card stock that I embossed using the new Scattered Sequins Dynamic TIEF. The die-cut sentiment is done using the new Celebrate You Thinlits...can you believe these are FREE during Sale-a-bration?? They are a level two reward and so are free with a $120 order. The stamp set that coordinates with it is called Amazing You and is also a free Sale-a-bration level one item. 

 I added some balloons punched from the new Myths and Magic glimmer paper and silver foil as well as some silver baker's twine and some yummy adhesive-backed sequins. Soooo much goodness in one little card!

 On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped a sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in Basic Black ink and the starburst image from the Amazing You stamp set in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that 2018 is off to a great start. Around here we've been in clean and declutter mode and it sure feels good! It's amazing how freeing it is to say good-bye to all that "stuff" that clogs up our lives.
I've also had more time to play with new products! The shiny new Occasions Catalogue goes live tomorrow and it is FULL of fabulous new items. Check out this project I made using the Petal Passion Suite:

Aren't those roses beautiful? I love the hand-drawn look of them...it makes them perfect for colouring! Here I used my watercolour pencils and a blender pen to add colour to the images. Now, because I was colouring on Crumb Cake card stock, I first coloured the entire image with the white pencil to lay down a lighter background on which to apply the colour. I then used the Bermuda Bay and Old Olive pencils to add colour to the flowers and leaves, blending with my blender pen as I went.

I used the Petals and More Thinlits to die-cut the roses and the gold accent pieces in the background. I think that lattice piece will be one of my go-to dies this spring! The circles are die-cut using the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles framelits.

On the inside of the Thick Very Vanilla card base I stamped more roses and a sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set in Basic Black ink, opting to leave the images uncoloured on the inside, as I knew it would be difficult to achieve the same soft colour on the vanilla card stock that I did on the Crumb Cake and I didn't want to alter to soft, vintage vibe of the design.
