Awesome Brusho and a Blog Hop

Happy Day-after-Valentine's Day! I hope you were feeling the love yesterday. It's time for another Stamping Symphony team blog hop!

This month we are all about the Brusho. All of us are having so much fun playing with this fabulous new medium that we couldn't resist featuring it in one of monthly blog hops.

This is actually one of the projects we'll be making as part of my Brush up on Brusho class next week. It is the perfect, grungy birthday card for a teen or tween boy. I created my background using embossing paste and the Pattern Party decorative masks. Once the white paste was dry, I brushed it with my Versamark pad and then heat embossed in gold. Here is a closer look:

To create the focal image background I used water colour paper and spritzed it lightly with water. Then I sprinkled on Brusho in blue and gamboge, allowing the crystals to activate wherever they contacted the water. Once it was dry I added the guitar image from the Epic Celebrations Sale-a-bration set and some flourishes from the Timeless Textures set and heat embossed them in gold. I used my Big Shot and Layering Circle dies to die cut a partial circle. I love the of shape of that layer.

The sentiment, also from the Epic Celebrations set, is heat embossed in gold and then I added another flourish in Basic Black, stamped off once. I used the Pretty Label punch to punch the sentiment and layered it on a gold foil startburst. The only embellishments on this card are a few gold sequins.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the sentiment from Epic Celebrations and more flourishes, all in Basic Black ink.

Simply Amazing Brusho Love

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. We had crazy snow and freezing rain here. Almost a foot of snow and then ice on top...not much traveling happened around here this weekend, which meant I got to stay home and make Valentines! More on those later. First I want to show you one of the projects I designed for my upcoming Brush up on Brusho class...

Can I just say how much I love those magical crystals of colour?? To create this card I applied Shimmery White embossing paste using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. Then, with the mask still in place, I sprinkled on some Gamboge Brusho crystals. I ran my palette knife over the stencil again to spread the crystals and magic happened! Here is a closer look:

It is sooooo sparkly and pretty! I absolutely LOVE this look! Of course, I loved it so much I didn't want to cover it so I kept the design super simple, adding just the die-cut sentiment and dragonfly as well as some stamped and fussy-cut words. With all that sparkle the only embellishment required was a few gold sequins.

On the inside I stamped a border image from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink. Super simple, but oh, so pretty!

Sweetest Deal

Well, I'm a wee bit late posting this week, as the start of a new semester, combined with my big Customer Appreciation weekend have kept me super-busy. I have lots to share with you today! Firstly, the return of the AMAZING Fast Fuse Deal!

I am crushing on the Tutti Frutti Suite these days! The coordinating card and envelopes from the Sale-a-bration brochure are the perfect way to put together cute and quick projects.

Can I tell you how adorable these little pineapples are?? They are truly itty bitty and too sweet! The pair perfectly with the Tutti Frutti DSP I use for the background and the tag. I also added some Lemon Lime Twist striped ribbon and a few self-adhesive sequins. (How much do we love THOSE??) There is just so much to love about the products in this suite...stay tuned for more cute projects with it.
