New Catalogue Sneak Peek

Well, what a difference a week makes! The last time I posted we were in the midst of a horrible ice storm, feeling winter's wrath and being pounded with high winds and so much ice and snow. Now, seven days later, we are enjoying a gorgeous spring weekend with mild temperaturs and beautiful sunshine! Welcome to springtime in Canada!
Today I want to share with you a sneak peek of some new products you'll see in the upcoming 2018/19 Annual Catalogue, which goes live June 1st. This card features what I predict will be one of the best-selling suites in the catalogue called Nature's Poem. Check this out...

If you love Lovely As a Tree, this new suite will definitely appeal to you! It features a stamp set called Rooted in Nature which includes multiple tree, and leaf images as well as several sentiments AND a coordinating set of framelits. Here I stamped the large tree on Sahara Sand card stock using Soft Suede ink and then die-cut it using the framelits. So quick and easy! Did you notice those embossed leaves peeking out from behind the tree? Here's a closer look...
There are dies in this set that emboss the leaf images and then others that cut them out. I LOVE this look!! So many possibilities with these! And let's not overlook that beautiful DSP, which is also part of the suite. It is positively YUMMY!
I also used some tried and true current products on this card, including the Pinewood Planks TIEF, the Sitched Shapes Framelits and some burlap ribbon and linen thread. The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.

On the inside I added a Whisper White card stock panel so that I could showcase more of the beautiful images in the stamp set. The leaves are stamped in Soft Suede and Tranquil Tide ink and the sentiment, also from the same stamp set, is stamped in Soft Suede ink.
I can't wait till I have more time to play with this suite. I have so many ideas swimming in my brain and so little time to make them a reality. I sooooo need summer vacation!

If you haven't yet reserved your copy of the new catalouge, be sure to contact me before April 30th to ensure you don't miss the mailing deadline. Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram and like my Facebook page to ensure you don't miss all of the projects I post between blog posts. With my busy schedule, I'm posting here once a week, but still showcasing lots of projects on my social media accounts. You won't want to miss seeing all the exciting new products from the new catalogue!

Have a great week!

Hopping Through the Last Chance List

Happy Sunday! I hope you're having a good weekend. Can you believe we're already half-way through April?? It sure would be nice if we got some spring weather go match the date on the calendar. We're in the midst of a major ice storm here! So far the lights (and my computer) have stayed on...here's hoping they stay that way!

It's time for another blog hop with my Stampin' Symphony team and this month we're highlighting our favourite products from the Last Chance List. These are all products that will retire with the end of the 2017/18 Annual Catalogue on May 31st. Here is my project:

I used one of my favourite retiring stamp sets: Awesomely Artistic. This set is fantastic because all of the images layer so beautifully and truly do make one feel like an artist! I began with a piece of Wood Textures DSP (thankfully this stuff is sticking around for another year!) and then began stamping various images from the set using Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke ink (both of those colours are being discontinued as part of the Colour Revamp). I also stamped the spatter image in Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold. Here's a closer look:

The label is heat embossed in gold on gold foil card stock, giving it a faux-metal look. I added some burlap ribbon and lace trim (both of which are NOT retiring) and some Touches of Nature Wood Elements (which are going away).

On the inside I added a piece of Very Vanilla card stock on which I stamped the floral image in Always Artichoke ink and the sentiment in Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from another of my go-to sets that is retiring called One Big Meaning. I'm going to miss THAT one!

The Last Chance List is truly just that...the retiring items, once they sell out, are gone for ever. Don't miss picking up those must-have items. For more Last Chance List inspiration, check out the projects by these super-talented ladies:

What. A. Weekend!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was simply FABULOUS!! I and more than a dozen of my Stamping Symphony team attend Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event in London, ON. We were there to kick of the official celebration of Stampin' Up!'s 30th Anniversary and for the reveal of the upcoming Annual Catalogue, which goes live June 1st. As if that weren't enough excitement, I also did a presentation at the event that showcased one of the new bundles. This was the first time I've done anything like this and I was SOOO excited! I managed to keep it a secret from my team until they announced my name to go on stage! I had so much fun presenting and just can't say enough about the Stampin' Up! staff who helped run the event. They were amazing and the whole thing ran like clockwork. These photos are screenshots of a video one of my downline shot of the TV screen...not the best photo quality, but I think you can tell it's me ;)

Now that the spoiler advisory has been lifted, I thought I would share a couple of the projects I designed for my presentation. The stamp set I was asked to showcase is called Varied Vases and the coordinating punch is the Vases Builder punch. The stamp set is Mary Fish's Million Dollar Achiever set and it perfectly reflects her clean and simple style. For the first two projects I showcased I tried to channel my "inner Mary" and design cards that were clean and modern with a pop of colour...

One of the best things about this set is that it features two-step-stamping images. So if you're in the mood for a little colour therapy you can colour the outline images using Blends, an aqua painter, watercolor pencils or blender pens. On this card I used an aqua painter and my ink pads.

If you're in a hurry, the solid image stamps add instant colour quickly and easily. Gotta love versatility! Here I used Lemon Lime Twist on the vase and Melon Mambo on the flowers.

I even gave the inside a little love on this one but forgot to show it on stage...

I think this bundle will be popular with stampers of all experience levels because it features both images and sentiments, making it a great value. There are so many things you can do with it...I'll show more of my OnStage projects over the coming weeks as we count down to the new catalogue.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the Retiring Products List, which just dropped today. While there are lots of beloved favourites on there, not the least of which are SEVENTEEN outgoing  colours as part of the Colour Revamp, the new products and colours are SPECTACULAR and will make you forget all about your beloved Always Artichoke ;)

You can view the lists as a PDF by clicking the images below or visit my webstore to see (and order) the items you just have to have before they're gone. Remember that all items with the exception of stamp sets are available only while supplies last, so don't wait too long to pick up that Always Artichoke reinker and extra packs of card stock!

Tulips for Mom

Happy belated Easter! I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with the love of family and friends. We had a fabulous time celebrating the resurrection with our family.
Today I thought I would share a project I designed for my all-occasions card buffet last week featuring the Tranquil Tulips host set...

I absolutely LOVE this stamp set! I only wish I had discovered it sooner. It is such fun to create beautiful tulips in a rainbow of colours. Here I used Berry Burst and Sweet Sugarplum for the blooms and Emerald Envy for the stems and leaves. Here's a closer look...

I stamped off the background layer for each bloom so that the more detailed foreground image would stand out more. I used Basic Black to add the centres to each flower. The sentiment is from a long-retired host set called Something to Celebrate...I just love the scripty font. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black on a label cut with the Petals and More framelits and then layered it on a filigree label die-cut with the same set. The paint-chip DSP along the side is from the Colour Theory DSP pack.

On the inside I added a Whisper White card stock layer on which I stamped another Berry Burst tulip and a sentiment from the Special Celebrations set.

The nice thing about this card is that a simple change in the sentiment on the front would make a lovely birthday or get well card...gotta love versatility!

Have a super week...thanks for stopping by!
