A Cupcake Punch Easter Card for PPA 87

To follow yesterday's Easter-themed post, here is another one!  I was playing around with my cupcake punch looking for ways to use it besides the obvious.  I've seen other baskets made with the wrapper part of the punch so I kept playing and here is what I came up with:

Punch art Easter card made with the Create-A-Cupcake punch and matching stamp set for PPA87.

This card matches yesterday's bunny perfectly...likely because I still had a bunch of the scraps lying on my work table when I was making it! It also works perfectly for a challenge posted over on Pal Paper Arts, so I've entered it...we'll see what happens!   Here is what I did to create this card:

On a scrap strip of crumb cake cardstock, I stamped the wrapper image in crumb cake ink three times, leaving lots of space between each.  (Tip:  when stamping images to be punched out, use narrow strips of cardstock and leave lots of space to allow for the other parts of  the punch that you don't want, but can't help punching).  I punched out the wrappers.  I then punched three small ovals along the edge of another piece of crumb cake cardstock.  I then punched over the same holes with my large oval punch to get the narrow oval handles for the baskets.  I sponged them lightly with crumb cake ink so that they would match the basket bases.  I then punched several of the smallest heart from the heart to heart punch from scraps of DSP.  I glued them to the basket with only the tops of the hearts showing...they look like eggs!  I layered several hearts in each basket and then glued the handles on.  Setting these aside, I cut a top note shape with my Big Shot from bashful blue cardstock and sponged the edges in ink of the same colour.  (While I had my Big Shot out, I also ran a whisper white card base through with my perfect polka dots embossing folder.)  I then took a strip of pear pizzazz cardstock, tore it lengthwise with my tearing edge, and cut several slits along the length of it to create the look of grass.  I sponged the blades of grass with pear pizzazz ink and then  glued the grass strip to the bashful blue top note, trimming the grass to match the shape of the top note and sponging the edges.  I then punched three of the cupcake tops from textured whisper white cardstock, sponged the edges with sahara sand ink and glued them to the top note, again trimming them to fit the shape of the top note.  I nestled each of my three egg-filled baskets in the grass, adhering them with dimensionals.  I glued the whole top note scene to my embossed card base using Tombow.  I added a little pink gingham ribbon (retired) bow to the middle basket.  For the sentiment, I stamped Happy Easter from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set in pear pizzazz on whisper white cardstock, punched it out using my word window punch and layered it on a pink pirouette modern label. I adhered it to the card with dimensionals and added the two little pearls to finish it off.
A fun and cute card that makes the cupcake punch even more of a necessity!!
