A Little Weekend Love

Happy weekend!!  I hope you've had a good week.  I've been feeling a little under the weather, but I'm hoping it doesn't develop into anything more than that. There are so many nasty bugs around at this time of year!
To celebrate the weekend I thought I'd show you the card I made using the Bloomin' Heart die-cut that I made back in November at the On-Stage Local event I attended. It took me a while to get around to doing something with it, but I'm liking the end result...

Friendship card featuring products from the Love Blossoms Suite in the new Occasions Catalogue
I began by layering my die-cut heart (which, by the way was cut from the Love Blossoms DSP stack) on a piece of textured Basic Gray card stock I had in my stash. (The textured card stock retired ages ago but I still have a few odd pieces sitting around!) I like the way the texture in the card stock works with the pattern on the DSP die-cut. From there I created a collage of various products. I used a tag punched from another pattern in the Love Blossoms stack using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. I also used a small silver metallic doily for some shine. The sentiment is from the Bloomin' Love stamp set, as is the banner image. I stamped the banner in Basic Gray ink and then heat embossed the sentiment in silver. I fussy cut the banner.

The Blushing Bride satin ribbon and that sweet little Rose Red satin bow are from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit...so many good things in there! The little bow comes on an antiqued gold paper clip, but since that didn't work with my colour scheme, I removed the bow and adhered it to my tag with a glue dot. The final touch was a string of pearls below the ribbon and a few odd pearls scattered around. The entire card is built on a thick Whisper White card base.

Inside view with sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
On the inside I heat embossed the sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set in silver and then added a wee flower from the Bloomin' Love set. I used Rose Red ink for the outline and Blushing Bride to fill it in. The stem is stamped in Smokey Slate ink.

I hope your weekend is super and offers lots of time for stamping!

  1. Beautiful card! Hope you feel better and a little extra rest this weekend sends that bug packing.
