Celebrate Friday!

TGIF!! I hope you've had a good week.  Mine has been crazy...but they're all that way :)

Today I have a project that features the dies that I emphatically said I didn't need when I saw them in the Occasions catty.  I have tons of flower dies, so I had no intention whatsoever of purchasing the Botanical Builder Framelits. Then I started see the gorgeous creations my fellow demonstrators were showcasing on Pinterest and I was in trouble. Check out this project and you'll see why...

Birthday card featuring the Botanical Builder Framelits with sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set
So I bought them. And I love them. I was wrong (don't tell my husband!). These dies create beautifully detailed three-dimensional flowers and beautiful intricate foliage that is completely different from anything I already had in my stash. I mean seriously, look at these gorgeous blooms...

My colour scheme for this card included Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral for the flowers. I used Basic Black for the centres. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow. I built my bouquet on a gold metallic doily. The card base is Basic Black card stock, which I die cut using the vine border die. I added a gold foil panel behind the die-cut border to make it pop. I added some subtle spatters with my gold Wink of Stella pen to the card front...not sure that shows in the photos.

The sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set is heat embossed in gold on Whisper White card stock. I die-cut it using the Rose Garden Thinlits.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Blooms stamp set in Basic Black ink and added another little die-cut blossom.

If you're like me and think you don't need yet another set of flower dies, you need to reconsider. These dies are FABULOUS!

Have a great weekend!

  2. Came over from Sunday Stamps when your card caught my eye, and I kept looking around. This card sure caught my eye too! Gorgeous! I felt the same way about buying this set and am now waiting on mine from backorder! You are very creative! TFS.
