Monday Sympathy

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was crazy as always AND I came down with another sinus cold. Seriously? How does one get the same cold twice in a month?? Ugh! Here's hoping this one is short-lived.
Today I have a card I designed for a class I have coming up later this week that features the Rose Wonder bundle:

Sympathy card featuring the Rose Wonder stamp set.
I broke out my aquapainter and ink pads to watercolour this image. I used Basic Gray Archival ink to stamp the image and heat set it with my heat tool. Then I coloured the rose with Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder inks. The leaves were done in Old Olive and Wild Wasabi. Finally I did a light wash for the background using Soft Sky ink. I love how easy and forgiving watercolouring is! I added some spatters of embossed gold as well as gold around the edges of the front panel.

The card base is Kraft card stock. I stamped the leaf portion of the rose stamp using Soft Suede ink and then sponged around the edges of the card base before adhering the watercoloured panel. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and die-cut using the Rose Garden Thinlits.

On the inside I stamped another of the sentiments from the Rose Wonder set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.

Thanks for starting your week with me...hope it's a good one!

    1. Thank you Michelle :) The gold splatter is done by stamping with Versamark using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and then heat embossing in gold.
