It's Canning Season

As you may know, I'm spending this week at my parents' place in northern Ontario enjoying some R & R. My mom, on the other hand, is busy in the kitchen canning the many vegetables being produced by her vegetable garden. From beets, to beans and pickles, there are yummy smells emanating from her kitchen daily. I can't wait to take a selection of her hard work home with me to enjoy this winter!
Today's project is inspired by canning season and uses the Jar of Love stamp set...

I designed these for one of the demonstrations I did during my virtual team meeting this month. It is a fun-fold that showcases both sides of our gorgeous DSP...how awesome is that? For these I used the Fruit Stand DSP, which features beautiful watercoloured images.

If you have never created a pinwheel card before, I have a step-by-step PDF tutorial that I would be happy to share with you. Just email me to request a free copy.
The mason jar is stamped using Smoky Slate ink and the lid is stamped in Basic Gray. I used the Everyday Jars framelits to die-cut them out. I also added a die-cut window sheet to place over top of the stamped jar to make it look more like glass. I added a bit of Linen Thread tied around the lid for some texture.
The belly band is a 1" x 11" strip of coordinating card stock which I just wrapped around the closed card and secured. I added some burlap ribbon which I adhered using Fast Fuse. The sentiment is also from the Jar of Love stamp set and is stamped on a 3/4" x 3" piece of Whisper White card stock.

On the inside I added a 4" x 4" Whisper White panel on which I stamped one of the fruit images from the Fresh Fruit stamp set, leaving lots of space to write a heartfelt message of gratitude.

I may just send one of these to my parents' to thank them for their hospitality this week. I have truly been spoiled and am getting lots of time to rest and relax before the insanity of the school year begins.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
