Best Yet for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! Are you having a good weekend? It's a hectic one here...my entire household is sick with a nasty head cold, including myself. Ugh! This is NOT the week to get sick...I've got two big events happening! Here's hoping the cooler, more seasonable weather will kick this bug's butt!
Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps. I've had to take a couple of weeks off from the Design Team to deal with all the craziness of the new school year, but I'm back this week :)

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it...

I pulled out the new Frosted Medallions stamp set and some Fancy Frost Specialty DSP for this one. The DSP comes dry embossed in several different patterns, so it is perfect for someone who doesn't have a Big Shot but wants to add texture to a project. Here I left the embossed DSP white, but it is super-easy to add colour with sponges, a brayer or spritzer. (Be sure to check back tomorrow for a fall project where I coloured the DSP!)

To create the three panels I began with a single piece of card stock one which I stamped the two medallion images in Soft Sky ink. Then I cut the card stock into three equal strips and adhered them to the Smoky Slate mat. I layered that on the piece of Fancy Frost specialty DSP and then onto a Smoky Slate card base. The sentiment is also from the Frosted Medallions set and is heat embossed in silver. I used some 1/8" stitched Smoky Slate ribbon and added a few Fancy Frost Sequins for some sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the medallions again in Soft Sky and added another of the sentiments from the Frosted Medallions set in Smoky Slate ink.

Give this sketch a whirl...I actually liked it so much I used it on another project for one of my events this week! We'd love to see what you create, so be sure to share with us over at Sunday Stamps.

Have a super Sunday!

  1. Leena, this is beautiful! I love the embossed background and the panel you created! Hard to imagine snow when it is 90 plus degrees! LOL! The foil doily is perfect with the ribbon! XX
