Season's Greetings

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. We are celebrating our Thanksgiving here in Canada, so I am off to stuff a turkey as soon as I finish this post!

Today marks the start of a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps....

Here is my take on the challenge:

I love blue with pops of red for Christmas, so this challenge immediately inspired a holiday card. I began with a piece of Cheer All Year specialty DSP and then sponged on Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo inks. I love the way the silver foil pattern pops against the blue background. I layered the sponged DSP on a mat of Real Red card stock and then mounted it on an Island Indigo card stock base.

The sentiment, from the Cheers to the Year stamp set, is heat embossed in silver over a stamped snowflake in Tempting Turquoise ink. I added a pop of Real Red with the swirled circle image from the same stamp set. I punched the stamped images out using my 2" circle punch and then layered it on a Tempting Turquoise mat, punched with the starburst punch. Behind that I added a silver foil swirl, die-cut using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. I added a silver Year of Cheer Embellishment and a little Real Red bow. The final touch was a few scattered silver sequins.

On the inside I added a Whisper White card stock panel on which I stamped more of the snowflakes from the Cheers to the Year stamp set in Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo inks.

This is a fun colour challenge because it works for everything from birthdays to Christmas. Give it a go and then be sure to share with us over at Sunday Stamps. We'd love to see your work!

Now, I'm off to get up close and personal with a rather large bird ;)
