Today I have some of the crafty awesomeness that came out of my weekend with my bestie Michelle Suit. We spent a little bit time at the Lindt outlet store and came home with more than just (really, really good) chocolate...we found crafty inspiration! Check out this sweet little treat box we found:
Is that not the sweetest? It is filled with little ladybug chocolates. The wings swing open to reveal a window and all of the chocolatey goodness inside. Now, you know you're with a friend who gets you when you both grab the same box because you have every intention of recreating it with Stampin' Up! products! Check out these little cuties we came up with:
Aren't they adorable? Given that I was with the godess of Punch Art, you know there HAD to be punches involved in our creation! We used empty embellishment containers (of which I have about a zillion hanging around my studio!) for the body of the box. We cut the centre of the lid out and then added a window sheet so that the yummy chocolates inside are visible. The wings of both critters fan open, revealing the window underneath.
Since there were little bee chocolates that were just as cute as the ladybug ones, we decided they deserved their own box...
Each box is covered with Neutrals DSP. We used polka dots for the ladybug and stripes for the bee. We coloured the striped DSP with a Daffodil Delight marker to get the yellow stripes. Michelle used circle punches and Framelits to construct the body parts...it is amazing what that woman can create with a few different-sized circles! The boxes are lined with card stock and we used some Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum for the wings. The sparkle on each critter's nose and cheeks is from the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.
I love these little sweeties...and the sweet friend I made them with! Just wait till you see what else we came up with....it will knock your socks off...I promise!
Have a fabulous weekend...we're headed up to my parents' place at the lake for a few days. No swimming this trip, but definitely a little R 'n' R! Be sure to stop by on Sunday for a sweet new sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps! In the meantime, hop on over to check out Michelle's blog...and see a punch art genius at work!
