It's Now or Never

That's right! Time is running out to take advantage of Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion of the year. Sale-a-bration ends at midnight tonight. Don't miss out on your chance to earn exclusive free products.

Check out this quick and easy project I made using one of the many stamp sets, and coordinating DSP, both of which will retire tonight:

Thank you card featuring the Flowering Fields stamp set and Wildflower Fields DSP.
This card was made easy thanks to two coordinating products: Wildflower Fields DSP and the Flowering Fields stamp set. I began with a panel of DSP as a base and added another piece of contrasting DSP and a tea lace doily. The label is die-cut from Whisper White card stock using the Lots of Labels stamp set. I stamped several of the flower images form the Flowering Fields stamp set using Basic Gray ink and then coloured them using my Stampin' Write markers in Old Olive, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. I added the sentiment, which is one of the Expressions Natural Elements from the Annual Catalogue. The only embellishments are some gold metallic thread and a gold metal button. Super quick and easy!

Just for You

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. I am back to work today after an extra-long Easter weekend thanks to the big ice storm we had last week.
Today I have a project that features one of the free stamp sets you can earn with a $60 order during Sale-a-bration. There isn't much time left to take advantage of this freebie...check it out:

Any-occasion card featuring the Botanicals For You Sale-a-bration stamp set...available only until March 31st!
This was such a quick and easy card to make! I began with a piece of Whisper White card stock on which I stamped the sentiment and the little flowers and leaves using Versamark ink. I heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder. Then I did a wash using an Aqua Painter filled with rubbing alcohol. I began with Pool Party ink, then moved to Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo. I love the resulting depth of colour and the fact that I could use regular card stock rather than watercolour paper.

I layered the stamped panel on a piece of Island Indigo card stock and then mounted it on a thick Whisper White 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card base. The sentiment, also from the Botanicals for You set, is heat embossed in white on vellum.

That yummy ribbon is the Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Ribbon from the Occasions catalogue. Thank goodness that stuff is around for another month...I love it!

Don't miss out on this fabulous stamp set. It is only available until Thursday at midnight and only with a $60 CAN/ $50 US order. Order yours today and don't forget to check out the new Weekly Deals in the right sidebar!

Thank you Blooms for Sunday Stamps

Happy Easter! I hope you are celebrating with those you love today.

Today marks the start of a new colour challenge at Sunday Stamps...

Here is my take on the rainbow colour scheme using the the Botanical Builder bundle:

Thank you card featuring the Botanical Blooms stamp set and coordinating Botanical Builder Framelits.
For this project I turned to one of my favourite techinques: Emerging Colours. I began by sponging several colours of ink onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. I used: Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, and Tempting Turquoise. Then I stamped several of the flower images from the Botanical Blooms stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder. I then sponged the entire panel with Night of Navy ink. The clear embossed areas resist the ink, allowing the vibrant colour to show through. To make the colours pop even more I wiped the embossed areas clean of ink using a tissue.

Using the Botanical Builder Framelits, I die-cut several flowers and some leaves. I used Cucumber Crush card stock fo the leaves, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Tempting Turquoise for the flowers. I also punched a few small flowers using the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack...they are perfect for layering. I used some scrap gold foil sheet for the centre of the largest flower. I also die-cut the sentiment from gold foil sheets using the Greetings Thinlits. I embellished the centres of the flowers using rhinestones that I coloured using the gold Wink of Stella glitter pen to give them a more golden shine, rather than silver. Behind the sponged panel, I added a piece of gold foil sheets, off-setting it slightly. The focal panel is actually adhered square on the Night of Navy card base, but the off-kilter panel behind it gives the layout a funky twist.

Inside view with sentiment from the Lovely Amazing You stamp set
On the inside I stamped the sentiment from Lovely Amazing You in Night of Navy ink on a Whisper White panel. I added some more flowers from the Botanical Blooms set in Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo inks.

This rainbow colour challenge is so much fun...I am going to keep playing with it this week...stay tuned. In the meantime, be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects and then give it a go yourself. We'd love for you to share your work with us at Sunday Stamps this week!

Have a blessed Easter!
