Free Shipping and a Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday, friends! Can you believe we are just 10 days away from Christmas?? Today is the 15th of the month, which means it is time for another Stamping Symphony blog hop. More about that in a moment. First, I wanted to make sure you are aware of the FREE SHIPPING flash sale, happening today only, on orders of $100+.

That's a savings of at least $11.95 for orders shipped straight to your door. Now, be aware that the shipping deadline for pre-Christmas delivery has passed, but that doesn't mean you can't do a little shopping for yourself to enjoy after the hub-bub of the holidays dies down, right? This would be a great time to check out the Clearance Rack in my online store or to scoop up those last few retiring items from the Holiday Catalogue.

Now, on to our blog hop! This month we had a colour challenge theme...check it out:

I was SO happy to play with some non-Christmas colours this week! I decided to pull out a long-neglected bundle from the Annual Catalogue...Lovely & Lasting. Here is my card:

I used a piece of the Lovely in Linen Designer Paper, die-cut it with one of the Basic Border Dies and then layered it over a piece of Basic White card stock that I embossed with the Quatrefoil embossing folder.

To stamp my flowers, I first inked the entire stamp with So Saffron ink and then, using a sponge dauber, added Sweet Sorbet ink around the edges of the flowers. I LOVE the way they turned out! Then I fussy-cut them out and arranged them, along with some punched sprigs from the Bough punch, on the front of my card. I used the same technique on the small flowers on the sentiment label and added a sentiment stamped in Smoky Slate. The ribbon is the White Crinkled Seam Binding that I coloured with my dark So Saffron Blends...gotta love being able to customize embellishments!

On the inside, I stamped a border along the top and bottom edges of my Basic White panel to echo what I did on the front.

Be sure to check out my Facebook Live replay from this week for more with this fabulous suite...it's up on my YouTube channel now. You'll also want to be sure to follow me on Instagram so you don't miss a single one of my project ideas.

Now be sure to hop on over to Sandy's blog to see what she has created:

Warm Wishes for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. Here, we are in full Christmas-decorating mode. We have the tree up and most of the decorations done...just one more room to go! It was a family affair with everyone pitching in, which is a nice change from past years when it has been all-Mommy-all-the-time ;)
Today marks the start of a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps. It features lots of rich yummy hues...

Here is my wintry take on it:

I'll admit, I found this challenge tough, as I am still in Christmas-mode. So I pulled the two shades of grey and one of the reds from the challenge to come up with this design that works as a Christmas or winter-theme card.

I used the Cable Knit TIEF to emboss my Smokey Slate background panel and then layered two silver foil snowflakes on top. I added die-cut mittens in Real Red and Whisper White. These were cut with the Many Mittens Framelits, which just happen to be on sale in the Year End Sale promotion right now! I added a stitched felt star because felt just makes everything cozier and I love the texture it adds.

The sentiment is from a retired set called Winter Wishes and is simply perfect for this design. I added some Smokey Slate 1/8" stitched ribbon and some silver enamel dots and hearts in the centre of the mittens for some sparkle. Voila...quick and easy holiday card.

On the inside I used a sentiment from the Hearts Come Home stamp set, inking it with Smokey Slate and Real Red markers, and then added another little silver enamel heart.

If you're looking for a creative challenge or a break from Christmas red and green, give this challenge a try and then be sure to share with us over at Sunday Stamps. We'd love to see what you create!

Blended Celebration for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you're enjoying your weekend and the extra hour of sleep last night! Today marks the start of a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps...check it out:

Here is my take on it:

I have to admit, it was really nice to take a break from design Christmas cards to make this pretty birthday card with one of my favourite colour combinations: Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie. I began by stamping the flower image from the new Colour Me Happy stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I used the medium and dark shades from my old Blendabilities (yes, they STILL work!) and the dark shade of the new Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends to colour my images. I used the Color Lifter to add highlights in spots. Then I added Wink of Stella to each flower for some sparkle.

I layered the stamped panel on a slightly larger piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and added the sentiment, which is also stamped in Tuexdeo Black ink. The card base is Basic Black card stock on which I stamped the flower image again, this time using Versamark ink. I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder and then filled in each flower with Wink of Stella. The result is a whole lot of sparkly goodness!

The only embellishments I used were some Black Vintage Crochet Trim, a bit of retired baker's twine and some black rhinestones.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped another sentiment from the Color Me Happy stamp set as well as more flowers using Basic Black ink.

If you're like me and tired of designing Christmas projects, give this colour challenge a try...you'll be glad you did! Be sure to share with us over at Sunday Stamps so we can admire you work!

Have a super Sunday!
