Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps. Check out this super-versatile sketch:
For this project I pulled out one of the sets, Reason for the Season, from last year's Holiday Cataloge that carried over to this year's Annual Catalogue. It is easy to forget that there are some fabulous Christmas stamp sets in the Annual Catalogue and this is your reminder to check them out! I also used some This Christmas DSP from the Annualy catty as well...the sheet music patterned background is from that pack! I simply stamped the poinsettia and leaf images, in Cherry Cobbly and Garden Green inks respectively, on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP. Then I stamped the outline image using Versamrk and heat embossed in copper. I tore about 3/4" off the right edge of the DSP, Versamarked the torn edge, and then heat embossed it in copper as well. Love the look.
The sentiment is also heat embossed in copper on Very Vanilla card stock. I used the Layering Ovals framelits to die cut the sentiment and the Cherry Cobbler mat behind it. The background panel is a piece of Kraft card stock on which I stamped images from the Reason for the Season set in Crumb Cake ink. The only embellishment on this project is a mini pinecone and a bit of Linen thread.
On the inside of the card I added a Very Vanilla panel on which I stamped the poinsettia and leaf images using Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green inks. The outline and sentiment (from the Peace This Christmas stamp set) are stamped in Crumb Cake ink.
Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team projects for this challenge...they are fabulous!! Then give this sketch a try and share your creation with us over at Sunday Stamps...we'd love to see your work!
Have a super Sunday!!
