Peekaboo for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. Mine has been filled with lots of stamping! Today marks the beginning of a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps. It is a colour challenge:

Here is my project for the Design Team:

Baby card featuring the Easter Lamb stamp and the Suite Sayings stamp set.
Isn't that little lamb the sweetest?? As I do with all of my stamps that include both and image and a sentiment, I performed some minor surgery and separated them. I find it makes both the image and the sentiment much more versatile.
I decided to embrace the soft pink in the colour challenge and create a welcome-baby-girl card.  I started by heat embossing the lamb in white on Chocolate Chip card stock. I created my shaker using the Circles Collection Framelits to die cut the frame and the window. The sequins I used to fill my shaker are from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit. The Whisper White background panel is embossed using the Decorative Dots TIEF...I like that the embossed pattern mimics the woolly texture on the lamb image.

I layered the embossed panel on a slightly larger piece of Pink Pirouette card stock before adhering it to a Chocolate Chip card base. I added some Pink Pirouette Seam Binding ribbon to soften the stark white and add even more texture. The sentiment, from the Suite Sayings stamp set, is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and then punched using the Washi Label punch. I layered it on a slightly larger piece of Chocolate Chip card stock, which I punched along either end with the Washi Label punch as well. I love that that punch gives such flexibility. The only additional embellishments I added was a piece of a gold foil metallic doily peeking out below the sentiment, and some itty bitty gold glimmer hearts that I punched with the Confetti Hearts Border punch. I also added a few hints of gold shimmer with my Wink of Stella brush.

On the inside I stamped the sweet little lamb again in Chocolate Chip ink on a Whisper White panel. I added the sentiment from the Zoo Babies set, stamped in Chocolate Chip, punched with the Word Window, and then layered on a Pink Pirouette Washi Label. I couldn't resist adding one more itty bitty gold glimmer heart :)

I have to admit that Pink Pirouette is not a colour I reach for often. Living in a house of boys, I don't find it a colour I have much use for! However, I really love it paired with the Chocolate Chip and crisp Whisper White.  Are you like me and rarely use your Pink Pirouette ink pad? Give this challenge a try and see if you can stretch your creativity a little...the results may surprise you! Be sure to share your creation with us over at Sunday Stamps...have an inky Sunday!

Sweet Friday Thanks

Happy Friday!  I hope you've had a good week.  Here is a sweet little project I designed using the Apple of My Eye stamp set from the Occasions Catty:

Thank you card featuring the Apply of my Eye stamp set.
I have to admit that the Apple of My Eye set wasn't one of my immediate favourites when I first laid eyes on it in the Occasions catalogue; however it is fast becoming a favourite for fun, quick projects. For this one I pulled out a piece of Cherry on Top DSP from the Annual Catty to coordinate with the cherry stamp images.  How perfect is that?? I used a retired Edgelit to create the eyelet border along the edge of the DSP and then layered half of a Tea Lace Doily behind it.  Very sweet and girlie, no?

The focal image is stamped on Whisper White card stock using Watermelon Wonder ink for the cherries and Cucumber Crush for the stems and leaves. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black. I used the Banners Collection Framelits to die cut my banner. I embellished it using some Basic Black Baker's Twine and a bit of Watermelon Wonder sequin trim from January's Paper Pumpkin kit, as well as a cute mini wooden clothespin. My card base is Cucumber Crush.

On the inside I stamped the cherries along the bottom of a panel of Whisper White card stock and then added the sentiment in Basic Black. Super quick and easy!

Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend. Be sure to stop by on Sunday for a new challenge from Sunday Stamps!

Bright Birthday Balloons

To me, nothing says "celebration" like a balloon bouquet. Where there are balloons, there is bound to be a party! Today's card makes me happy...

Birthday card featuring the Balloon Bouquet punch, Crazy About You stamp set and Hello You Thinlits.
Now, who wouldn't love to receive this card on their birthday? I drew my colour palette from the Cherry On Top DSP stack from the Annual Catalogue. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the new products from the seasonal catalogues, I forget all about the AWESOME goodies in the Annual Catty. No more! I love the bright colours: Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and crisp Whisper White. I began with a piece of DSP and stamped the balloon strings in Basic Black ink. Then I went to work with my Balloon Bouquet punch and punched several balloons from card stock and DSP to complete my bouquet.

I layered the front panel on a piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock and then mounted it on a panel ow Whisper White card stock that I had embossed using the Confetti TIEF. The card is built on a Bermuda Bay card base.
The sentiment, from the Crazy About You stamp set, is stamped in Basic Black ink. The die-cut sentiment is done in silver glimmer paper using the Hello You Thinlits. The only embellishment I added was a little bow made with Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon...love that stuff! Here's hoping we see it in more colours in the next Annual Catalogue!

On the inside I embossed the bottom edge of a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Confetti TIEF again. I stamped the sentiment from the Greatest Greetings set in Basic Black. I think it is perfect because this card just makes me smile!
I hope your week has been filled with smiles so far! Have a great day!!
