Fresh Mountain Air

Maybe it's my Austrian heritage, but I absolutely love the mountains. My dad was grew up in the heart of the Austrian Alps and every time I have been to visit his family there my heart is always drawn to those majestic mountains.  I could sit and gaze at them for hours...they make my heart happy and my soul feels at peace whenever I am near them. I think that is why I was so drawn to the gorgeous Mountain Air bundle. Not only is it perfect for masculine and outdoorsy cards, but the images are beautiful. Check it out...

One of my favourite things about the Mountain Air stamp set is that the stamps are reversible. So this seven-piece set is actually a FOURTEEN-piece one. The solid images are stamped using the reverse side of the detailed stamps. It it SO COOL! Check out this project I made for a recent event...

I was inspired by a card by Mitosu Crafts. Here, I've used some Country Club DSP that I die-cut using the Stitched Nested Label dies to anchor my images. The mountains and moon are stamped in Basic Gray ink on Smoky Slate and So Saffron card stock respectively. The trees are stamped in Garden Green on Whisper White. I used the Majestic Mountain dies to cut each of the images out. I added a few silver sequins as twinkling stars...man cards can sparkle, right??

The base of my card is Basic Gray card stock with an additional Basic Gray panel that I embossed using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped more trees in Garden Green ink and another sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays set in Basic Gray.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others in this week's Tuesday Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page. If you're not on Facebook or unable to catch the live broadcast, the video will be uploaded to my YouTube channel shortly afterwards. There will be a link on the Video Tutorials tab above.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a super week!

Lovely Lily Pad Love

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. We had a bug dump of snow here...nearly 20 cm (8" for you non-metric-types) came down on Saturday! My hubby was mighty grateful for his snowblower! All that snow meant lots of time in my studio and I not only gave it a thorough clean-up, I also did some creating. Lots of good stuff coming in the weeks ahead!
This week I am featuring a suite of products that aren't really a suite...but should be! I'm referring to the beautiful Lovely Lily Pad stamp set, coordinating Lily Pad Dies and utterly gorgeous Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper...

Now, I will admit, that when I first saw these products in the Sale-a-bration brochure, I wasn't sold on them. I just didn't see the possibilities...but boy, was I wrong! Once I got my hands on them and started creating with them I just couldn't stop and they have become my very favourite Sale-a-bration items this year!
Check out this card I designed for a swap I participated in recently...

One of the best things about this stamp set is that the images have bold lines, making them super-easy to colour. For this card I used Stampin' Blends...Dark Flirty Flamingo, Dark Lovely Lipstick, and the Granny Apple Green combo, to be specific. I just love how they turned out...so vibrant and rich!

Of course, I had to add some Wink of Stella to make the blossoms shimmer...so pretty!

The background Whisper White panel is embossed using the Mosaic embossing folder and I used some of the gorgeous Lily Impressions DSP as well. Since I was all about the freebies on this card, I also used some of the Metallic Baker's Twine and Sequins in Bermuda Bay to embellish...gotta love free stuff! Speaking of free...the sentiment is from another Sale-a-bration freebie called Sending You Thoughts!

On the inside I added another Whisper White panel and stamped another sentiment from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set as well as another lily pad and blossom.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others using these gorgeous products in tomorrow Tuesday Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page. I hope you'll join me for the live broadcast, but if you miss it you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or the Free Video Tutorials at the top of this page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I hope you have a great week!

Tropical Dreaming and a Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday! Are you surprised to see me today? A quick check of the calendar and you'll see that it is already the 15th of the month, which means it is time for our monthly Stamping Symphony blog hop!

This month we are highlighting products from the new January - June Mini Catalogue. Since I am all about the Tropical Oasis suite this week, I thought I'd share another project I demonstrated in this week's Live @ Five video...

This is a take on the good ol' spotlighting technique. I began by stamping the images from the Timeless Tropical stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink to create my background. Then, on a separate piece of scrap Whisper White card stock, I stamped the hibiscus image and two leaves, colouring them with my Stampin' Blends. I used Dark So Saffron and Dark Real Red for the flower and Light and Dark Old Olive and Light Pretty Peacock for the leaves. I die-cut them out and then adhered them to the background panel using dimensionals.

The greeting is also die-cut using the In the Tropics dies from Basic Black card stock. The only embellishments here are some glitter organdy ribbon and a few rhinestones. Sometimes simple is stunning!

Be sure to check out the video below for the full how-to on this project and two others as well as all of the details for my newest online class that just happens to also feature this bundle!
