Rainbow of Happiness

Happy Tuesday! The week has gotten off to a VERY snowy start here in Southern Ontario, as we received 34 cm (13") of snow yesterday! We haven't had a storm like that in quite some time and everything pretty much ground to a halt. Despite the yucky wintry weather, the sun was shining in my studio, as I had a good play with the Rainbows of Happiness bundle. Check out this cute card...

Now, doesn't that brighten up a gloomy January day? I used a piece of the fabulous Abstract Beauty Designer Paper for my background...aren't those splashes of gold foil fantastic?? I played up the gold foil accents by adding a gold foil mat behind my DSP panel. I used Just Jade, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Magenta Madness to build my rainbows. The Brilliant Rainbow dies make it super-easy to quickly cut lots of rainbows in various colours. I die-cut my clouds from the new Mother of Pearl specialty paper...they are so sparkly!

The sentiment from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set is simply perfect for this cheery card. I added a bit of Fan Baker's Twine in Night of Navy as a wee accent, but this card really doesn't need much! I also added some Wink of Stella to the arches of each rainbow...because every rainbow should shimmer a little, right?

On the inside I added a Basic White panel on which I stamped another sentiment from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set as well as some adorable little hearts. I used the remaining die-cut pieces to add another rainbow to the lower right corner to add a little extra colour.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others using this adorable bundle in today's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook business page. Plan to join me live or catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for stopping by this week...stay warm and have a great week!

Sweet Talk Shaker and a Blog Hop

Happy Saturday! If you're surprised to hear from me on the weekend it is because it is the 15th and once again time for our Stamping Symphony Blog Hop!

This month we are about Saleabration or Love and, since I've been all about the Sweet Talk Suite all week, I went with love as my theme and designed a cute shaker card. Check it out...

shaker card

I fussy-cut several of the candy images from one of the DSP patterns to act as the filling for my shaker. The little candies and lollypops are perfect! To create my shaker I began with a 3" x 4" piece of DSP, which I inserted into a clear envelope. Then I added my shaker bits, trimmed the excess off the envelope and sealed my shaker using Tear 'n' Tape. This is a super-quick and easy way to make a shaker that has no bulk and mails easily.

shaker card

I layered my shaker on a scalloped border cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies and then adhered it to another piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper. I added some Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon and a cute tag cut using the Sweet Hearts dies.

shaker card

On the inside I added a piece of Basic White card stock on which I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Conversations set in Basic Gray and the hugs and kisses image in Real Red.

Be sure to check out the other amazing creations in our hop...

Sweet Talk Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday from frigid southern Ontario! It is soooooo ccccold here this morning, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get warm! I can't wait for spring...just a couple more months to go! Weather this cold can only mean Valentine's Day is coming, so I thought I would turn my attention to the adorable Sweet Talk Suite in the new mini catalogue this week and work on projects to share the love on Feb. 14th. Check out this adorable fun fold card I made:

valentines card

Isn't that fun?? I had never seen this fun fold before until last weekend when I happened upon a blog that had a cute Christmas card using this fold. I searched high and low for a tutorial, but couldn't find one, so I figured it out myself. I was shocked that it only took me two tries to get it right...it's a surprisingly easy wow!

Here's a side view...

valentines card

It folds flat and fits in a standard envelope for mailing. The finished size is 4" x 5-1/2"...I tried to make it a standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" but was ending up with some crazy measurements, so I opted to keep it simple and go with a slightly narrower card. When the card is open and standing up, you'd never know it is 1/4" narrower than standard.

valentines card

I used two patterns from the  Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper to decorate the various panels on my card...I love that this paper pack is more than just pink and red...the pop of purple is a welcome surprise for Valentine's Day. The focal panel measures 2" x 3", making it the perfect size to showcase the cute little tag die-cut from the Sweet Hearts Dies. I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Conversations stamp set and a few hearts in Blushing Bride and Real Red ink, added a sweet bow and some yummy iridescent rhinestones.
valentines card

I think the best thing about this card is that it is just as cute from the back as it is the front! I added some more DSP and some Basic White panels, allowing lots of space to write a loving message.

valentines card

I can't wait to demonstrate this card in today's Facebook Live @ Five on my business page! You'll be as amazed as I was at how easy this fold is to create! If you miss the live broadcast, you can catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for stopping by today...be sure to come back on Saturday for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop...see you then!
