See a Silhouette

Happy Monday! Can you believe it is already the last Monday of July? Summer is half over and I need it to SLOW DOWN!  I am not ready for back to school and cooler weather yet!

This week I am featuring the gorgeous See a Silhouette suite from the Annual Catalogue...

I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous designer paper in this suite...and I am a HUGE sucker for word dies...and dandelions ;) There truly is so much to love in this suite...I can't stop playing with it! Here is a card I will be featuring in this week's Live @ Five video...

Did I mention how much I love the designer paper? Every sheet is full of vibrant colour, imitating the look of the new Pigment Sprinkles without the mess! This particular pattern reminded me of satellite images one sometimes sees of the earth. Since we are still on a high from our travels this summer, this adventure-themed card kind of made itself.

I stamped the silhouette image in Night of Navy ink on a Stitched Nested Labels die-cut and then added the partial sentiment, which I inked using my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker. Both the stitched circle and the die-cut word are cut from gold foil card stock.

I embossed the gold foil circle using the Subtle embossing folder...I absolutely love the look of it! Although it doesn't really show in the photo, this whole card shimmers, as I flicked my clear Wink of Stella all over the card front. That is fast-becoming one of my favourite techniques!

On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the silhouette image again in Night of Navy ink and another sentiment from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

As I mentioned above, I'll be demonstrating this card and two others (including a REALLY cool fun-fold) in my Live @ Five video over on Facebook this week. I hope you'll join me, but if you miss the live broadcast you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab above.

Thanks for stopping by this week...have a great one!

It's Christmas in July!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. It has been terribly hot and humid here. Saturday was THE WORST, but then the storms came through and Sunday was simply perfect. I took a rare afternoon off, lounging on the deck and reading a novel...it was so nice to have some downtime!

As hot as it has been, it is hard to think about cold weather, snow and Christmas, but it will come sooner than we all might like. This week I am hosting my annual Christmas in July event and I thought I would make the whole week all about holiday cards. My featured product this week is the Lots of Cheer stamp set from the Annual Catalogue...

Lots of Cheer (Item #149503)
This set is new this year and is perfect if you're like me and love to colour!  Check out this simple fun-fold card I made...

For this card I pulled out my Noble Peacock Specialty DSP...it is so beautiful! The focal image is heat embossed in silver and then coloured using the Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends combo, as well as Light Smokey Slate. I used the Stitched Shapes dies to die-cut the white oval and then the Layering Ovals dies to cut the scalloped silver foil oval mat.

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. I added some gorgeous reversible ribbon and a couple Noble Peacock Rhinestones for extra shimmer and shine. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the darker parts of the ornament, making it sooooo pretty!

On the inside I added a Whisper White layer, on which I stamped another sentiment from the Lots of Cheer set in Pretty Peacock ink and added a 1/2" strip of scrap DSP along the bottom edge.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others using the Lots of Cheer stamp set in tomorrow's Tuesday Live @ Five video. I hope you'll join me, but if you can't, be sure to catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab above later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a spectacular week...and merry Christmas (in July!)

Daisy Lane and a Blog Hop!

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a good start. We just got home last night from our epic Mediterranean cruise on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. What an amazing week we had! So many special memories for our family as we toured many incredible sites. It also didn't hurt that Stampin' Up! spoiled me silly with gifts upon gifts, including not-yet-released products from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue! It was such a wonderful week!

Now we are back to reality and I am back in my studio. Since we are already halfway through July, it is time for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop. We are down a few bloggers this month due to summer holidays.

This week I'm featuring the Daisy Lane bundle from the new Annual Catalogue...

I have been waiting to play with this set since I first saw it in the catalogue and am so loving it! Daisies are such happy flowers and I am loving the card I have to share today. Check it out...

I'm not sure what it is about daisies and gingham, but I absolutely love them together! Here, I've used some Call Me Clover gingham DSP from the 2018-2020 6" x 6" stack to create a cute fun-fold. It is a variation on a gate-fold card and is super easy to make.

I used several sizes of the Stitched Nested Labels dies for my focal point. The woodgrain DSP is from the Pressed Petals DSP pack. I stamped my daisies on Melon Mambo card stock using ink of the same colour and punched them using the Daisy and Medium Daisy punches. The leaves are punched from Granny Apple Green card stock using the Leaf punch. I couldn't resist using one of the fun Perennial Essence floral centres in the middle of my daisy.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Daisy Lane stamp set using Call me Clover ink.

I'll be featuring this card and two others in my weekly Tuesday Live @ Five video this week. You can check it out on my Facebook page tomorrow at 5 pm ET. If you miss the live broadcast, you can watch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab above.

In the meantime, hop on over to Sandy's blog to see what awesomeness she has in store...

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!
