Fable Friends

Happy Monday...and happy Spring! We had some lovely mild temperatures here this weekend which sure infected me with Spring Fever! It was so nice to see the sunshine and watch those snowbanks get smaller and smaller. We measure our spring by how long it takes the snow mountain in the middle of our court to melt. I'll keep you posted ;)

The warmer weather has me in the mood for soft colours and adorable images, so this week I am featuring the Fable Friends stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue...

Am I the only one reminded of Beatrix Potter stories by these adorable images?? I absolutely love them!  Check out the cute card I made featuring that little sailor-squirrel...

Is he not just the sweetest?? I stamped him using Memento Tuxedo black ink and used Stampin' Blends to colour the image. The squirrel is Crumb Cake, his sailor suit is Balmy Blue, the flower is Flirty Flamingo and the stem and grass are Light Granny Apple Green. I used Light Daffodil Delight for the centre of the flower. Here's a closer look...

The labels I stamped on were die-cut using the Stitched Labels framelits and I used the Basket Weave TIEF to emboss the Whisper White background panel.

On the inside I added another sentiment from the Fable Friends set and a little scrap of Balmy Blue Gingham Gala DSP.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two other adorable projects using this set in tomorrow's Tuesday Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page. If you miss the live broadcast you can check out the replay on Facebook or on the Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page.

In the meantime, have a great day and a super first week of spring!

Beauty Abounds for Mom

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend and a happy St. Patrick's Day. We had a good one here, as my mom and dad came down for a quick visit. This is the first time I've been able to see my dad since his health scare last fall and it was SO good to see him doing so well. His new knee works like a charm and his health has improved tremendously. I am so thankful for the chance to enjoy a meal with them.

This week's featured product is the Beauty Abounds bundle from the Occasions Catalogue...

I have to say, this set of dies is incredible! Such detailed images and TWENTY dies in the set! Now, today's card uses only the stamp set, which is fabulous in itself...check out this beauty:

If you've been following me for a while you likely know that I LOVE texture stamps and this set has several. My favourites are the bokeh dot images which create cool bubble-like effects. On this card I used both bokeh images as well as the spatter stamp to create a unique background.  I'll be demonstrating this card, along with two others in my Tuesday Live @ Five video tomorrow on my Facebook page. In the meantime, here's a close-up of the focal image...

I absolutely love the texture and depth those stamps create! The sentiment on this one is from the Strong and Beautiful stamp set, which is fast-becoming a favourite of mine. So many wonderful inspiring sentiments to choose from in that set! I used another one of them on the inside of this card...

I so love this sentiment because it applies to just about every woman I know in one way or another. I am so blessed to have amazingly strong women in my life and this sentiment is one I will use over and over again.

I hope you'll join me live tomorrow afternoon, but if you can't you can catch the replay on my Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page or on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a spectacular week!

Lasting Lily Take 2 and a Blog Hop

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a good week. Mine has gone insanely fast, as they always do when I'm off work. I didn't even come close to completing my To-Do List, so I'm a bit worried about heading back to work. It's going to be a crazy few weeks!

Can you believe we're already half-way through March?? Today is the 15th, which means it's time for another Stamping Symphony Blog Hop.

This month we're featuring products from the Sale-a-bration Coordination promotion. Check out this beauty featuring the Lily Framelits, which coordinate with the Lasting Lily Sale-a-bration stamp set...

Isn't that background cool? I created it using the "smudge" stamp in the Lasting Lily stamp set. You can check out how in this week's Tuesday Live @ Five video below. I demonstrated this and two other cards featuring this stamp set and dies.

Here's a closer look at the background...

The best thing about this set of framelits is that they not only include the dies to cut out the lilies, stems and leaves, but also have two sizes of labels that fit many of the sentiments in the stamp set. Gotta love that!

On the inside of this one I used the same "smudge" stamp behind my sentiment...who would've thought that little stamp could create such a unique background!

Be sure to check out the next stop on our hop...lots of amazing creativity here!

Have a fabulous weekend...see you Monday!
