Birthday Quickie

Happy Friday...and happy weekend! It has been another VERY long week at school. Everyone is stressed out with the end of the semester and exams looming. The fact that it is January and the mid-winter blahs have kicked in sure doesn't help. I am so fortunate to have been able to book an unpaid day off work to attend the Canadian Business Conference hosted by Stampin' Up! Canada today and tomorrow. I am so looking forward to gathering with other business-minded demonstrators to learn and network. I'll share some photos next week :)

Today I have a super quick and easy birthday card to share with you. It was another of the projects I offered at my Birthday Card buffet last week...

I began with a card base of Crushed Curry card stock. The background paper is from the Party Animal DSP pack. I cut a larger 4" x 5" panel into four 1-1/4" strips. The sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. I'm embarrassed to say this is the first time this stamp has seen ink! It certainly won't be the last...I love the fun font! I stamped the image in Basic Black ink on Whisper White card stock and then die-cut it out using the Stitched Shapes framelits. I layered that on a Crushed Curry circle die-cut with the Layering Circles framelits.

The balloons are punched using the Balloon Bouquet punch from Pacific Point and Emerald Envy card stock. I added some shimmer to the balloons using the clear Wink of Stella. The only embellishment on this quick and easy card is a little bow made from 1/8" taffeta ribbon in Emerald Envy.

On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped another sentiment from the Better Together set (I love that this set has sentiments for BOTH the front AND the inside of the card!) in Basic Black ink. I added the fun balloon image from the new Birthday Bright stamp set in Emerald Envy. Although this stamp set is designed to coordinate with the Birthday Bright Project Kit, it is an AWESOME stamp set all by itself! I have used it a ton already and haven't even put together the kit yet!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend...I know I will!
