Happy Canada Day!!

WAHOOO!! Not only is today my first day of summer vacation, but it also marks the 150th birthday of this great country. I couldn't be prouder to call myself a Canadian and am so thankful for the many, many freedoms I enjoy that I so often take for granted. In honour of this momentous occasion, I created some patriotic projects, inspired by others I have seen over the past weeks...

Sometimes I think Stampin' Up! designed the Seasonal Layers Thinlits just for us Canucks! The maple leaf images as well as the Muskoka chair are positively iconic in this country. I used both to create these projects.

This fun home decor piece was inspired by one of my Tri-City Stampers friends, Steph VanDorp. You can see more of her work HERE. I found the 5" x 7" white-washed wood frame at HomeSense and knew it would be perfect for this project. I die-cut three muskoka chairs, two in Real Red and one in Whisper White and added a small Real Red maple leaf. So simple, yet so perfectly Canadian. After inserting it in the frame I decided it still needed a little something so I added two more of the intricate die-cut maple leaves. I love the final product!

The coordinating card was inspired by fellow demonstrator Mary Louise Hamill. She is a genius when it comes to clean and simple cards and I absolutely fell in love with this design. To create this card, I adhered two 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" pieces of Real Red card stock to a piece of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Whisper White card stock and then ran it through my Big Shot with the new Pinewood Planks dynamic TIEF. I added an intricate die-cut maple leaf and then adhered the whole thing to a thick Whisper White card base. So quick and easy and again, perfectly patriotic.

Now, with a brand new month, there are some exciting new promotions to share with you!

Bonus Days are back! Last summer, Stampin' Up! ran a this new promotion and it was such a success they've brought it back this year! During the month of July, for every $60 you spend on product you will receive a $6 coupon redeemable in August! How fantastic is that?? This promotion applies to all order types, so you can order online or directly through me. When you do, you'll receive an email with your Bonus Days coupon codes...don't lose that email! Neither Stampin' Up! nor I will have access to your codes if you accidentally delete the email, so flag it as super-important! You'll also want to be sure to update your email address if it has changed since the last time you ordered. Now is the perfect time to pick up some of the items from your new catty Wish List!

Now, as awesome as Bonus Days are, the promotion I am MOST excited about is Christmas In July! This is THE BEST starter kit offer Stampin' Up! has offered in a very long time...better even than Sale-a-bration!

Join my Tri-City Stampers team during the month of July and receive a bonus Essentials Gift Pack valued at $94...that's on top of the $165 worth of products you get to choose for your personalized starter kit and the $70 worth of business supplies! Did I mention ALL of this will cost you a total of just $135? That's $259 worth of product and $70 in business supplies, including extra catalogues you can share with your friends, for just $135. Now do you see why I'm so excited?? This is an AWESOME deal!

Another HUGE bonus of joining in July is that you will have until the end of January, 2018 to make your first quarterly minimum!! That means you can enjoy a discount on all of your holiday crafting supplies this fall and your purchases will go toward maintaining your status. PLUS you'll get early access to Sale-a-bration and new Occasions Catalogue products in December. There is absolutely no downside to taking advantage of this promotion!

Here is what new demonstrators will receive in their Essential Gift Pack:

This is just a little taste of one of the many perks of being a demonstrator...early access to new products! This stamp set will be featured in the new Holiday Catalogue, which goes live on September 1st...nothing like getting your hands on new stuff two months before everyone else! Is that not fabulous??? Now...do you see where I'm going with this? Earn your Bonus Days coupons before July 31st and then use them to order the uber-awesome Thoughtful Branches bundle in August! It's a win-win! Remember, after you place an order, either in my online store or through me directly, Stampin' Up! will email you with your coupon code(s). KEEP THAT CODE!! You are the only one who can see it (I can't!) and Stampin' Up! can not resend it if you lose it. Write it down, take a screen shot, do whatever it takes to ensure you don't lose that coupon. It would make me SO sad if you missed out on your discount!

Alrighty then...now on to some stamping. Today I have another of the cards we'll be creating tonight at my class featuring the Floral Boutique Suite...

I have been wanting to demonstrate the Drapery Fold technique for a while now and the Floral Boutique DSP is the perfect way to do it! Beautiful, colour-coordinated patterns on both sides of the page. I used the Detialed Floral Thinlits to die-cut a piece of Whisper White card stock for the upper portion and divided the two sections with a narrow strip of Night of Navy card stock that I brushed with my Wink of Stella clear glimmer brush.

That sweet bow is punched from Night of Navy card stock using the Bow Builder punch and then also brushed with Wink of Stella...so shimmery! I added a Metal-rimmed pearl to the centre of the bow. The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and is heat embossed in white directly on the Night of Navy card base.

On the inside I kept it super-simple so I could add a sentiment later, depending on what occasion I needed the card for. I simply stamped the border image from the Floral Phrases stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.

I am headed out of town this weekend to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary...it is sure to be a busy, family-filled time of celebration! I hope your weekend is fabulous too!!
