Another Day, Another Stamp-a-Stack!

So many Christmas cards!  I have a number of private Stamp-a-Stack events coming up in the next couple of weeks, so I am busily preparing for them.  Here is one of several cards I designed...

Christmas card featuring the Wonderful Wreath (132748) and Tags 4 You (131823) stamp sets
As with all of my Stamp-a-Stack designs, I kept this one pretty simple to facilitate making mulitples in a hurry.  I started by stamping the wreath in Old Olive and then die cut it with the Circles Collection Framelits.  I matted it on a larger circle in Cherry Cobbler.  The label is stamped in Cherry Cobble ink and then punched with the Bracket Label punch and adhered in the centre of the wreath using dimensionals.  The bow is fashioned with a glimmer brad holding it in the centre and adhered to the wreath using a glue dot.  The DSP background is from the Season of Style DSP stack.  Quick and easy and, hopefully, a hit!

More Twisted Faux Patina

Today I have another card I did for this week's Faux Patina challenge at The Technique Twist.  Check it out...

Thank you card featuring the Faux Patina technique and using the Wonderful Wreath stamp and the Seasonal Sayings stamp set.
For this one I wanted to get a more rusted look, so I changed up my colour choices for the Faux Patina.  Here is what I did:
  • I inked the smooth side of my Beautifully Baroque TIEF with my Crumb Cake ink pad and ran a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock through.  Then I sponged the entire surface with (in this order) Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso ink.  I then lightly brushed the panel with my Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
  • I cut the Faux Patina panel into four after completing the technique.  (Use the Rotary attachment for your Stampin' Trimmer...you'll get a perfect cut!)
  • I inked the wreath in Crushed Curry and then daubed the outer and inner edges with Cajun Craze.  I stamped it on Very Vanilla and then die cut it using the Circles Collection Framelits.
  • The sentiment is heat embossed in Early Espresso.
  • The kinky twine is pulled from a strip of the 1-1/4" burlap ribbon.  It is a nice, bulkier alternative to Linen Thread.
If you haven't already done so, be sure to check out The Technique Twist blog for more great takes on Faux Patina from our design team!

NEW Single Stamps!

I. Am. So. Excited!!!  Stampin' Up! has just released a brand new collection of single stamps and they are all Holiday themed!!  They are available now until January 31st, 2014.

Click the flyer to view larger size.
I love every single one!  I especially love that so many of the images coordinate with punches or dies that I already have!  Many of them are large images...the images on the flyer have been reduced by 50%.  Take note of the recommended Clear Mount block sizes to get an idea of just how big these stamps are.  They are going to be a wonderful, (affordable!!) addition to my stamp collection.  Yippee!!!

Now, since we're talking about new Holiday stamps, I might as well show you a Holiday card I designed.  Have a look:

Holiday card featuring the Wonderful Wreath (132748) stamp with sentiment from the Naughty and Nice This and That Rotary Stamp (132278)

So many of my favourite new products on this one card!  Here is a quick list for you:
  • The DSP is from the Season of Style DSP stack...48 card-sized sheets dirt cheap!
  • I stamped the wreath in Gumball Green and then fussy cut it.
  • I layered the wreath on a Silver Glimmer paper label cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
  • The sentiment is one of several on the Naughty and Nice This and That Rotary Stamp.  This is one of the best-kept secrets in the Holiday catalogue...11 different images for just $7.95!!
  • I didn't cheat and use non-SU rhinestones.  I just coloured them with a red Sharpie to make my red blingy berries :)
