Hand Penned Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a good week so far. I am in the home stretch of the school year...one week from today I am DONE! I can honestly say, this has been the most challenging year, by far, of my 25-year career. I am very much looking forward to a summer away from screens, Google Classroom and talking to avatars! Bring on sunshine, time outdoors and, of course lots of stamping!

Some big things happening this week....

Stampin' Up! just announced a FREE SHIPPING flash sale that runs for 24 hrs only on June 24th. This is a great opportunity to pick up those items from your new catalogue wish list and have them ship direct to your door for free! A free shipping offer doesn't come along very often, so be sure to take advantage on Thursday. Place your order of $65 in my online store or email me directly an have me place your order for you. Use Host Code: UN32PDVS and receive a special birthday gift from me! Yep...that brings me to the other big news this week! I am celebrating a BIG birthday on Friday (starts with F and rhymes with nifty) and I am giving YOU a gift!

All orders placed between Thursday, June 24th and Sunday, June 27th using the Host Code above will receive their choice of embellishment from pages 142-143 of the 2021/22 Annual Catalogue up to a maximum value of $13.00. Shop in my online store or email me directly.

Now for this week's project share...

The Hand Penned Petals Suite is one of my absolute must-haves from the new Annual Catalogue. The stamp/die bundle is fabulous and the Designer Paper pack is to die for! I have had SO much fun playing with these products and will be featuring tons of samples on my social media platforms all week long. Check out this pretty fun fold...

fun fold card

This fold is called an Arrow Fold and is a super-easy way to create a wow card in minutes. The design requires just a half sheet of card stock to from the base of the card and then what ever additional layers you wish to use to decorate it. I used Highland Heather for my card base and then layered a piece of Hand Penned Designer Paper. The stamped floral image is stamped in Basic Grey ink and then coloured using Stampin' Blends. The label is die-cut using the Tasteful Labels dies. Here's a closer look...

fun fold card

The coolest thing about this card is how it stands up and really highlights the focal image, thanks to the triangular shape that draws the eye inwards.

The inside of the card also features the triangular shape. I opted to leave it clean to allow more space to write a greeting, but the white space may be stamped using more floral images and/or another sentiment.

I'll be demonstrating this card in today's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook business page. Come and join me for the live demonstration or check out the replay later this evening on my YouTube channel. I will include all of the measurements in the video description so that you can give this fabulous fun fold a go!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a spectacular week!

Hydrangea Hill and a new Online Class

Happy first Tuesday of Spring! I hope the weather where you are is as gorgeous as it has been here since spring's arrival on the weekend. The sunshine and mild temperatures feel SO good!

Spring's arrival means my favourite flowers are in abundance. Check out this gorgeous hydrangea I picked up on the weekend...

No filter required for those beautiful blooms!

It seems only fitting that this is the week I chose to feature the stunning Hydrangea H from the January-June Mini Catalogue. I have been SO looking forward to playing with this one!

Check out this pretty fun-fold card I made:

arrow fold card

Can you believe that until recently I had never made an arrow fold card before? I just thought it would be too fussy for my liking...but imagine my surprise when I realized it is actually SO easy! No special cuts and just a few extra score lines! The result is such a WOW, don't you think?

I used Highland Heather card stock for my base and a single piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper for my background layers. The best part of doing it this way is that you get to showcase both sides of our beautiful DSP! I also used DSP to die-cut my flowers and leaves, which gives such beautiful variation in colour and texture. The label is stamped in Highland Heather ink (stamped off once) and Mossy Meadow. I added a sweet little scalloped border around the triangle using some Purple Posy Scalloped Ribbon...I love that soft little touch!

I went with gold accents to embellish, using some Forever Greenery gold cord and some little gold metallic pearls.

I'll be demonstrating this card, including all of the scoring to create this unique fold, in today's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook business page. If you miss me live or are not on Facebook, you can catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.

Now if you love this suite as much as I do and you want MORE, check out our latest Cross-Border Crafters Online Class. Click the image below for all of the details...

Thanks so much for stopping by today...have a super first week of spring!
