Harvest of Thanks

Happy Tuesday! I'm a day late posting this week because of our Thanksgiving long weekend yesterday. We had a great time with family enjoying turkey and all the trimmings as well as visiting our local fall fair. Although the weather was dreary, it was anything but around our house.  Today also marks my husband's and my 14th wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been that long already, though when I look in the mirror I sure do look that much older ;) I am so very thankful for the many, many blessings we receive each and every day. We truly are blessed beyond measure.

In the spirit of fall and the season of thanks, I have a pretty card to share with you today...

Don't you just love the rich colours of fall? I was inspired by the beauty all around me when I created this one! It features this week's Product of the Week: the Falling For Leaves bundle. I soooo love the images and sentiments in the stamp set and the dies are...well...to DIE FOR! (sorry(;)

I especially love the ghosted images of the detailed leaf in the colourful background. I'll be demonstrating the how-to for this technique this afternoon in my Tuesday Live @ Five video over on my Facebook Page. If you're reading this after the fact, you can check out the video on my YouTube channel. I won't take the time to go into detail here, but let me just say, it is an easy technique to do and doesn't require any special tools. The Early Espresso background is embossed using the Pinewood Planks TIEF (still a favourite of mine!) I die cut two of the leaves from the Detailed Leaves thinlits from copper foil...so yummy!

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a 3/4" wide strip of Whisper White card stock which I then trimmed using my Everyday Label punch. I love using that punch to create labels of all sizes. I added a little Braided Linen bow and a few copper sequins for some sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the detailed leaf image in Crushed Curry (stamped off once) and another sentiment from the Falling for Leaves set in Early Espresso ink.

I hope you'll join me live at 5:00 pm ET today for my weekly Facebook Live, but if you can't be sure to look for the video later this week on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a great week!

Happy October!

Happy Monday...and happy first day of October! It sure is looking and feeling like fall around here! The air is cool and crisp and the trees are starting their fiery display of fall glory! Ahhh...how I love this month!

Today also marks the start of a brand new business year at Stampin' Up!® and for me. Last year was truly remarkable...my best year ever. Not only did I earn the Incentive Trip, but I also promoted in title twice, reaching a level I never imagined possible. I am so very grateful for each and every person who takes the time to stop by my blog and leave a kind comment, places an order, attends a class or joins my team. I am so tremendously blessed that I get to do something that makes a difference in the lives of others while also earning enough to pay my son's school tuition, and allows me to keep working my full-time teaching job. That we are also able to take a free family vacation of a lifetime to the Greek Isles next summer is beyond my wildest dreams! THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of your crafty journey and for enabling me to keep doing what I love.

The new Stampin' Up!® year is kicking off with a fabulous promotion! World Card Making Day is coming on October 6th and to celebrate, Stampin' Up! is having a week-long sale on select products...including ADHESIVES!! NOW is definitely the time to stock up on Stampin' Dimensionals and Tear 'n' Tape! For all of the details on this 7-day sale, click the image below.

Now for even MORE exciting news! Starting this week I will be doing a LIVE stamping video on my Facebook business page! Join me every Tuesday afternoon for LIVE @ FIVE when I'll showcase my favourite products on various projects. Don't worry if you miss the live broadcast...I'll post the recorded video on my page so you can view it any time. Click the image to visit my Facebook page now and be sure to follow it so you don't miss a single episode!

Now, for some stamping! This project uses my favourite new/old product from the Holiday Catalogue...shimmer paint! This stuff was around several years ago and I loved it then, but am loving it even more now. Check this out...

Isn't that background gorgeous?? What you can't see in the photo is just how shiny and shimmery it is! To create it I used Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint along with Brusho...what a fantastic fall backdrop! I'm not going to go into detail as to how to achieve this look...you'll need to tune in to my Facebook LIVE tomorrow for the how-to...but believe me when I say it is easy and well worth getting a bit inky for!

The other elements on the card were created with the Falling for Leaves bundle. I stamped images from the stamp set on my shimmery background using Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks and then added the die-cut gold foil leaves using the Detailed Leaves dies. The sentiment is stamped on a strip of Country Lane DSP which I trimmed into a label using the Everyday Label punch. The only embellishments I used were some gold metallic pearls and a bit of Braided Linen Trim.

On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White card stock panel on which I stamped more images from the Falling for Leaves stamp set as well as a sentiment from the Perennial Birthday set.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll pop on over to my Facebook page to check out my video tomorrow afternoon. Till then, have a fantastic week!

Two More Sleeps!

Happy Labour Day Monday! Can you believe the summer is over?? Tomorrow the school bell rings and I'm back to the insanity. The only consolation is that the spectacular new Holiday Catalogue goes LIVE on Wednesday! I know I get excited about every new catalogue (who doesn't like new goodies?), but I can honestly say that in my opinion this is the BEST Holiday Catalogue we have had in my 8-1/2 years as a demonstrator.  It is really that good. Period. Now, if you still don't have a copy of your very own, I would be happy to send you a complimentary copy. Just drop me a quick note HERE and ask...ye shall receive!

Now for a cute project...this is one we'll be making at my Holiday Catalogue Launch and Bingo event next week:

If you've been following me for a while, I'm pretty sure how you know how I feel about Fall. I can't get enough of the rich and vibrant tones God paints the earth with each year. The Country Lane DSP pack is full of beautiful patterns and fall-inspired images. I used two different patterns here. The Crushed Curry background panel is also stamped with a leaf image from the Falling For Leaves stamp set. I love the added texture the stamped images add, as it's a good reminder that stamping on DSP is OK!

I used a square of the new galvanized metallic paper and embossed it using the Tin Tile TIEF...that folder is definitely in my Top Ten Must-Haves from this catalogue! The beautiful leaf is die-cut from Crushed Curry card stock using the Detailed Leaves dies. I layered the detailed leaf on a plain leaf cut with the same set. (Tip: apply Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to the back of your card stock before die-cutting detailed images...it makes adhering them a BREEZE!)
The sentiment is from the Country Home stamp set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink. I added a few more little Crushed Curry Leaves peeking onto the sentiment label as well. I added a little heart from the Corrugated Elements, some Braided Linen Trim and a few silver metallic pearls by way of embellishment.

On the inside I added a few more stamped leaves in Crushed Curry ink and a sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Blackberry Bliss. The entire card is built on a Crumb Cake card stock base.

Now for some exciting news...

I have started a special Facebook Group just for my blog followers and customers. This is different from my business page and will feature special tutorials, videos, customer promotions and more. If you want to see more of what I create, this group is the place to be. I will be posting there daily...you don't want to miss out! Join before September 15th and be entered into a draw for a FREE pack of Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels! To join, simply click HERE

Have a great week!
