Off Kilter Mosaic Madness

Happy Thursday!  This project is perfect for today...I am slightly off-kilter this week!  I have some weird bug that is causing me to experience vertigo.  I think it may be a sinus infection...fun times!  I'm hoping to get to a doctor today...if you don't hear from me for the next little while you'll know why :(

This will be a quick post to share this project that I am doing with my Techniques group tonight...if I can manage to stay upright long enough!

Thank you card featuring the Mosaic Madness stamp set and using the Faux Metal Technique.
This month we are all about faux metal and faux rusted metal.  On this one I used silver embossing powder on Brushed Silver card stock to create my faux metal accent using the Mosaic Madness stamp set.  I love the look of that image in faux metal!  The images are punched out using the Mosaic punch. The Whisper White background layer is embossed using the Mosaic Madness TIEF. My colour scheme is Lost Lagoon, Whisper White and Basic Gray.

The silver baker's twine is left over from one of last Fall's Paper Pumpkin Kits...you sure do get a ton of product in those magical red boxes!

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Something to Say set as well as one of the images from the Mosaic Madness set.

Sorry for the abbreviated post and lack of product links today...I'll be back to normal soon!

In my Thoughts

Today I have another of the make-n-takes from my team meeting last night.  We were all about the Irresistibly Yours Specialty paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure last night.

Thinking of You card featuring the Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP with sentiment from Delightful Dozen.
I used the Simply Scored to score the Coastal Cabana card base.  I like the subtle texture that simple score lines provide...without requiring a Big Shot!  The Irresistibly Yours Specialty paper is sponged with Coastal Cabana ink.  I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to pierce the border around the Whisper White mat.  The ribbon is from the Best Year Ever Accessories pack.

The sentiment, from the Delightful Dozen stamp set, is heat embossed in white.  I added a wee vellum butterfly, punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch, that I sponged lightly with Coastal Cabana ink and a few rhinestones that I coloured with the lightest shade of Bermuda Bay Blendabilities.

On the inside I wanted lots of room to write an encouraging note, so I simply added a narrow strip of sponge Irresistibly Yours Specialty paper along the bottom edge.
Have you earned your free package of this awesome paper yet?  The possibilities for this stuff are endless!

Now here are this week's Weekly Deals...as always, prices are good until Monday at midnight.

Irresistibly Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!  Hard to believe it's come around again...I'm pretty sure it was just Friday an hour or so ago!
Today I have one of the projects I designed for my team to make at our meeting tonight.  I wanted to showcase the Irresistibly Yours Specialty paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogue:

Birthday card featuring the Celebrate Today and Crazy about You stamp sets
Now it is hard to tell from this photo, but the coloured strip down the length of the card is masked and sponged.  The rest of the white space has the embossed stars on it too!  I used Melon Mambo, Tangelo Twist and Crushed Curry as my colour scheme.  I masked a 1-1/4 section before sponging so that I would have the bold stripe highlighting the star pattern.  The balloon is from the Celebrate Today set and is stamped in Melon Mambo ink on vellum.  I then heat embossed the confetti stars in white on the reverse side...I love the way it looks like a real balloon that you can see through!  I die cut the balloon with the Balloon Framelits and added some Crushed Curry baker's twine.

The word "happy" is die cut using the Hello You Thinlits from Melon Mambo card stock.  The word "birthday", from the Crazy about You set, is stamped in Tangelo Twist ink.  I added one of the Best Year Ever Sale-a-bration buttons so that it looked like the balloon was tied to the button.  The front panel is matted on Melon Mambo card stock and mounted on a Tangelo Twist card base.

Inside view with sentiment from Big News.
On the inside I stamped the balloon again in Melon Mambo and then used a sentiment from the Big News stamp set in Tangelo Twist ink.

I hope my team likes this project tonight!

Bow-tiful Birthday

Happy Friday!!  SOO glad the weekend is almost here :)
Today I have a super-quick and easy birthday card for you:

Birthday card featuring the Sassy Salutations stamp set and the Bow Builder Punch
This is another project from my buffet a couple of weeks ago.  I used the Decorative Dots TIEF to emboss the Whisper White background panel, leaving a smooth area at the bottom.  The sentiment, from the Sassy Salutations stamp set, is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.  I layered the embossed panel on a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock and then to a Whisper White card base.  The little bows are punched from the Brights Backgrounds DSP Stack using the Bow Builder punch.  I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Real Red.  The little silver glimmer hearts are punched with the Itty Bitty Accents pack.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from Really Good Greetings using Bermuda Bay ink and added another little silver glimmer heart.  It really doesn't get much easier than this one!

Have a great weekend!!

Painted Blooms Birthday

Happy Hump Day...it's all downhill to the weekend from here!
Today I have another of the projects that was available for a card buffet I held a couple of weeks ago.

Birthday card featuring the Painted Blooms DSP with sentiment from Simply Sketched (retired).
This one has some retired products as well as some brand new ones from the Occasions catalogue.  The Whisper White background layer is embossed using the new Spring Flowers TIEF and is layered on a Rose Red card base.  The beautiful floral focal point is a piece of the Painted Blooms DSP...it is SOOO pretty!  I also layered that on a piece of Rose Red card stock, but not before embellishing it with some Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon (retired) and a Something Borrowed Embellishment, which I used as a ribbon slide.

The sentiment, from the retired Hostess-exclusive set Simply Sketched, is heat embossed in silver and die cut using the Banners Framelits.  The little butterfly, from the Papillon Potpourri set, is heat embossed in silver on vellum and punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch.  I added some rhinestones for a little extra sparkle.

Inside view with sentiment from the Bloom With Hope Hostess-exclusive set.
On the inside I added another narrow strip of Painted Blooms DSP and then stamped the sentiment from the Bloom With Hope Hostess set in Rose Red ink.

Now, I totally forgot to post the Weekly Deals yesterday, so here they are...something for everyone this time!  Remember, prices are good until Monday at midnight.  My order goes in on Sunday evening :)

Sending Love Your Way

Happy Tuesday!  Today feels more like a Monday here...we had a snow day yesterday!!  We got upwards of a foot of snow in just 12 hours, which pretty much ground everything to a halt.  Both my son and I had a day off school...only my poor hubby had to trek through the snow to get to work.  Poor guy :(  I made it up to him with a crock pot full of chilli, a pan of homemade corn bread and fresh-from-the-oven apple crisp for dinner.  I think he enjoyed it ;)
Now for today's project...Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I have a class coming up this weekend where we will be making some projects to let the special people in our lives know just how much we love them.  This is one of the projects we'll be making.

Valentine's card featuring the Perfect Pennants and Celebrate Today stamp sets.
To create the cloudy sky background layer I punched a post-it note with the 2-3/8" circle punch and then used it as a mask to create the puffy clouds.  I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock, adhered the scalloped circle and then sponged with a dauber and Soft Sky ink.  Then I moved the mask and sponged some more, repeating this process until I had covered the entire piece of card stock.  The basket of the balloon is from the Celebrate Today stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black ink.  The balloon is die-cut using the Balloon Framelits from Stacked With Love DSP.  I also die-cut the little banner from silver glimmer paper using the same framelit set.

The words Sending...your way are from the Perfect Pennants set.  I simply omitted the "good thoughts" portion of the stamp by inking the words I wanted with my Basic Black marker.  The blank space left was perfectly-sized for the die-cut "love", cut from Real Red card stock using the Expressions (retired) Thinlits.  The background Real Red mat is embossed using the Happy Heart TIEF.  I added some little silver glimmer hearts, punched with the Confetti Hearts Border punch, spilling out of the basket.  The card base is Soft Sky card stock.

Inside view with sentiment from Good Greetings (retired) stamp set.
On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Good Greetings (retired) stamp set in Real Red ink and added some little hearts in Soft Sky ink using the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set.

"Love" this Sketch

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!  If you're like me, the best thing about the Superbowl is that everyone in my house is glued to the TV, which means I can escape to my craft cave and stamp the night away!

Today it is time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps.  Here is our sketch:

...and here is my project for the Design Team:

Valentine's Card featuring the Countless Sayings 1 photopolymer set and the Hello You Thinlits.
Now, it also happens that this project works with the Valentine's challenge over at Stampin' Royalty...hmmm...you'd think I planned that or something!

This sketch is so terrific...so many possibilities!  I have other projects planned using it...stay tuned!  As for this card, I pulled out my Countless Sayings 1 photooploymer set...haven't used that one in AGES!  I began by adhering three Washi tape strips along the left edge.  The red tape is retired, but the gold is from the Watercolour Wonder pack and the black is from the Stacked With Love pack.  I stamped the LOVE image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured it with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.

I die-cut the word 'you' from Basic Black card stock using the Hello You Thinlits.  The little gold foil hearts are punched with the Confetti Heart punch.  I added some Basic Black Baker's twine and a little black button from my stash and layered the whole card front on a piece of Real Red card stock.  Then I mounted it on a Basic Black card base.

Inisde view with sentiment from Good Greetings (retired).

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from Good Greetings (that awesome hostess promo set from last fall) using Real Red ink.  I added a few more little gold foil hearts, leftover from the front of the card.

So...are you ready to give this one a try?  This sketch is so flexibile...you can do just about anything with it!  Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects and then give it a go.  Then share it with us over at Sunday Stamps.  Happy Superbowl stamping!
