12 Days of Christmas in July Day 11

Happy Sunday! Are you enjoying your weekend? I sure am! This is the first real weekend I've had this summer to relax and enjoy doing things with my family and just for me. I've been busy creating some fun decor pieces for my new stampin' classroom and was able to spend some quality time with my boys. And that was all just on Saturday! Two more days of this long weekend to go...wahoo!

Now before I show you today's project, one final reminder that today is the LAST DAY to earn Bonus Days coupons. Orders must be in by midnight tonight to qualify. Don't forget!!

Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps. Check it out...

Here is my project for the Design Team...a Christmas card, of course!

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly which stamp set I wanted to use. I've been wanting to make a Christmas card using the fabulous Time of Year host set from the Annual Catalogue and this was the perfect opportunity. I began with some This Christmas Specialty DSP for the background and vertical element. Then I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and die-cut it using my Circles Collection framelits (SO glad I held on to those after they retired...sometimes one just needs to cut a larger circle!). I cut a gold metallic doily in half and layered it on either side of the circle.

The banner is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and die-cut using the Bunch of Banners framelits. I added the word "At" in Garden Green ink, punching it with the 1/2" circle. I added a little sprig of holly (also from the Time of Year stamp set) and added three Cherry Cobbler enamel dots for the berries. A little bow made with 1/8" metallic gold ribbon was the final touch.

This is a super-quick and easy card to put together. I'm definitely adding it to my Christmas card buffet line-up this fall. Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's take on this sketch and then give it a whirl. We'd love to see what you create!

12 Days of Christmas in July Day 10

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are enjoying the weekend. It is a long weekend here and my first of the summer where my To-Do List isn't longer than the weekend is long! I'm so looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.
Today I have another project I designed for an upcoming private class this week. The hostess chose several designs from Pinterest and I recreated them with my own little twist. This one was inspired by Yvonne VanBruggen of the Netherlands...

Yvonne's original design was all black and white, but I decided to add some pops of festive colour. The large snowflakes are from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and are stamped in Basic Gray ink. The smaller snowflakes are from the Snow Place set and are also stamped in Basic Gray. The smaller spatters are from the Holly Jolly Greetings set and are stamped in Smoky Slate to add a little depth. The die-cut silver foil swirl is done using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.

The penguin is stamped in Basic Black ink, die-cut using the Snow Friends set and coloured with a Pumpkin Pie marker. His little scarf is stamped in Real Red and also die-cut using the Snow Friends framelits. The sentiment stamped in Basic Black. The card is built on a Real Red card stock base. The only embellishments are some little silver enamel dots for some holiday sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink and a few more snowflakes in Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

Speaking of Christmas...are you on my mailing list to receive a copy of the upcoming Holiday Catalogue?? If you aren't you'll want to be, because it is out-of-this-world fabulous! 56 pages of pure awesomeness!! If you live in Canada and don't currently have a demonstrator drop me a quick note to request a complimentary copy. I'll get one in the mail to you so you have it well before it goes live on September 1st.

Before I go, just a quick reminder that time is running out to earn your Bonus Days coupons. Orders must be placed by midnight on Sunday to qualify for Bonus Days coupons. Don't forget and miss out on this fabulous deal!

Have a super Saturday. I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas project inspired by the new sketch at Sunday Stamps. See you then ;)

12 Days of Christmas in July Day 9

Happy Friday!! Wahoo...the long weekend is here! Before I get to today's project, just a little PSA:
Time is running out to earn your Bonus Days Coupons! Place your order before midnight on Sunday to earn coupons to spend in August. Don't miss out!

Ok...now on to some stamping. Today's project is one I designed as one of the Make-n-takes for my last team meeting...

I love the way this double-pleated drapery fold showcases the beauty of the This Christmas Specialty DSP. The lighter weight of the paper makes doing all of those folds a breeze. I layered the folded DSP on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock which I embossed using the Holly TIEF. I added some 5/8" Gold Satin ribbon and adhered it to a Cherry Cobbler card stock base.

The sentiment, from the new Peace This Christmas stamp set, is heat embossed in gold and die-cut using the Layering Ovals framelits. I layered that on a scalloped oval cut from Cherry Cobbler card stock and then adhered it to a gold metallic doily before adhering it to the card.

On the inside I added a Very Vanilla panel on which I stamped the sentiment, from the Peace this Christmas set, in Cherry Cobbler ink and some pine branches in Garden Green.

Despite all the scoring and folding, this is a reallly quick and easy card to make. So much so that I made 30 of them for a swap I recently participated in!

Have a fabulous weekend!
