It's Pumpkin Spice Season

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a good week. Mine has been craaaazzzy busy as I have been holding auditions for all of our bands at school. Not much time to stamp for this tired music teacher. To make matters worse I managed to pick up the cold that everyone at school is sharing...so I am more than ready for a weekend!

Today is the 15th, so it is time for another Tri-City Stampers Blog Hop. Our theme this month is fall, so I decided it was time to recognize everyone's favourite fall flavour...Pumpkin Spice ;)

I used the Merry Cafe stamp set to decorate my coffee cup and label. I love that this stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Coffee Cups framelits, making them even more versatile. I die-cut my cup from Sahara Sand card stock and the lid from Early Espresso. The images are stamped in Early Espresso ink and then filled in using Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler. I used Painted Autumn DSP for both the horizontal panel behind the cup and the label.

I layered some Early Espresso card stock behind the DSP panel and then used some Wood Textures DSP for the background layer. I went a little embellishment crazy on this one, using some Crushed Curry Cheveron Ribbon, Burlap Ribbon, a section of a Foil Snowflake (flipped so the Vanilla side is showing) and a little Touches of Nature Element.

On the inside I added a Very Vanilla panel on which I stamped more leaves as I did on the coffee cup.

Be sure to check out more fabulous fall projects by some of my Tri-City friends:

Feels like Fall

Happy Labour Day Monday! I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. I, on the other hand, have been busy at school preparing for the arrival of my students tomorrow. It is hard to believe that the summer is over and another school year is upon us. I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to the insanity that is my life during the school year, but it is coming, whether I'm ready or not!

Today want to share a project that I designed for my upcoming At Home With You Bundle of the Month class next week. I saw Amanda Bates' project on Pinterest I knew that I had to CASE it for this class.

I opted for a fall theme...I love that the At Home With You stamp set offers images and greetings for so many different occasions!  This is a centre-step easel card, which is the perfect way to showcase the door image from this bundle. I even used the window from the door to create the windows on either side of the door. Gotta love versatility :) Can you guess how I created the window boxes? They are from the base of the Muskoka chair die-cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits! I used Cajun Craze card stock.

I used a piece of 12" x 12" Kraft card stock from the Merry Little Christmas pack as the base. Amanda's original design was for a card that was 6" wide, but I wanted mine to fold flat and fit into a standard envelope, so I altered her design to fit. The door and windows are stamped in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Wood Textures DSP...is there anything you can't do with that stuff?? All of the coloured images are stamped in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla card stock and then coloured using a blender pen and ink pads. Colours I used were Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie.

I can't wait to try another one of these cards in a Christmas theme...stay tuned for that and a video tutorial coming soon!

I am very excited to announce my new ribbon share. Every ribbon in the Annual and Holiday Catalogues are now available to order by the yard, either as a single length or the equivalent in pre-tied bows. I have had so many people ask for this, I finally decided to make it happen. If you live in Canada you can order your ribbon by click the image above.

Have a wonderful week!!

Rustic Birthday

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. I can't believe we're already into the third week of summer holidays...where did the past two weeks go?? So much to do and so little time before the school bell rings again in September!
Today I have one of the projects I designed for my upcoming Wood Textures Suite class. It is super-simple, but I love it:

See? I told you it was simple...but that copper embossing on the wood textured DSP...*swoon*...love it! To create this look I simply stamped the floral image from the Wood Words stamp set several times on the DSP using Versamark ink. I sprinkled it with copper embossing powder and then heated to reveal the beautiful coppery shine. I layered the embossed panel on an Early Espresso card stock base.

The sentiment is a single stamp in the Label me Pretty stamp set. I stamped it in Versamark ink on Very Vanilla card stock and once again heat embossed in copper. I punched the label using the coordinating Pretty Label punch. I matted the label on a copper foil oval that I die-cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits. The only embellishment on this quick and easy card is a little bow made from 1/4" Copper Trim.

On the inside of the card I added a Very Vanilla panel on which I stamped a sentiment from the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set and more of the floral image from the Wood Words set using Early Espresso ink.

This card has a huge WOW factor thanks to the gorgeous copper embossing, yet is quick and easy to put together. Gotta love that!
