Cheery Cherry Thanks

Happy Monday...and happy month of May! Next to October, this is my favourite month of the year. I love the freshness of spring colours and the warm sunshine. The fact that there are only two more months till summer vacation doesn't hurt either ;)

Today I have a cheery little thank you card I made a while back using the Apple of My Eye stamp set...

I was in desperate need of thank you cards to send to my customers so I sat down to play with the Apple of My Eye stamp set and discovered that the cherry images coordinated perfectly with the Cherry On Top DSP pack! I love it when stuff like that happens!!
I began by stamping the stem and leaf images several times using Cucumber Crush ink on a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of Whisper White card stock. Then I added the cherries using Watermelon Wonder ink. I also stamped the cherries twice on a scrap of Whisper White card stock, punched them out with the 1/2" circle punch and popped them up on the stamped strip. I added the sentiment, which is also from the Apple of my Eye set, in Basic Black ink. The background DSP is from the aforementioned Cherry on Top DSP stack. I matted it with Watermelon Wonder card stock and adhered it to a thick Whisper White card base which I had embossed using the Decorative Dots TIEF.

I decided it needed a little more pop so I added some Crystal Effects to the punched cherries to make them shine and added some Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim to the stamped strip.

On the inside I stamped the stems, leaf and cherries again, stamping off once. Then I added another sentiment from the Apple of My Eye set in Basic Black.

As I typed this post, I realized just how many of the products I used on this project will be retiring at the end of the month! The DSP, stamp set, lace trim, Crystal Effects AND the embossing folder are all on the Retiring List...YIKES! Good thing there's LOTS to love in the new Annual Catalogue! I can't wait to place my pre-order tomorrow morning...stay tuned for lots of new projects using new products next week! In the meantime, be sure to pick up the items from your wishlist that are going away before it is too late.

Have a great week!

Apple of my Eye

Happy Friday! SO glad the weekend is here! Just when I think things can't get any crazier, they somehow do. Ready for a break in the action and maybe *gasp* a day off!

Today I have a quick and easy card I made using the Apple of My Eye stamp set...

I have to say that this set has really grown on me over the life of the Occasions catalogue...just in time for it to retire! It figures!! To create this card I began with a piece of Whisper White card stock on which I stamped the apple image from the Apple of my Eye set in Real Red ink several times along the right side. I added the stem in Crumb Cake, the leaf image in Wild Wasabi and the seeds in Basic Black and then ran the stamped panel through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF. (Still mourning the retirement of this one!). I matted the embossed panel on a piece of Basic Black card stock and then mounted it on a Real Red card base.

I stamped the apple image again on a scrap of Whisper White card stock, stamped the sentiment over top in Basic Black and then fussy cut it out. I added a fussy cut leaf and adhered it to the card with dimensionals. The only embellishment on this simple card is some Basic Black baker's twine.

On the inside I stamped the apple and stem again, this time stamping off before stamping on the Whisper White card stock panel. I added another sentiment from the Apple of my Eye set in Basic Black ink.

This is  super quick and easy card to whip up and send to someone special. Who do you know that could use a little pick-me-up today? Take 10 minutes and send them a smile via snail-mail. I guarantee they will love it!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Sweet Friday Thanks

Happy Friday!  I hope you've had a good week.  Here is a sweet little project I designed using the Apple of My Eye stamp set from the Occasions Catty:

Thank you card featuring the Apply of my Eye stamp set.
I have to admit that the Apple of My Eye set wasn't one of my immediate favourites when I first laid eyes on it in the Occasions catalogue; however it is fast becoming a favourite for fun, quick projects. For this one I pulled out a piece of Cherry on Top DSP from the Annual Catty to coordinate with the cherry stamp images.  How perfect is that?? I used a retired Edgelit to create the eyelet border along the edge of the DSP and then layered half of a Tea Lace Doily behind it.  Very sweet and girlie, no?

The focal image is stamped on Whisper White card stock using Watermelon Wonder ink for the cherries and Cucumber Crush for the stems and leaves. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black. I used the Banners Collection Framelits to die cut my banner. I embellished it using some Basic Black Baker's Twine and a bit of Watermelon Wonder sequin trim from January's Paper Pumpkin kit, as well as a cute mini wooden clothespin. My card base is Cucumber Crush.

On the inside I stamped the cherries along the bottom of a panel of Whisper White card stock and then added the sentiment in Basic Black. Super quick and easy!

Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend. Be sure to stop by on Sunday for a new challenge from Sunday Stamps!

So Sweet

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you get to spend time today with those you love. It's also Sunday, which means it's time for a new sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps!

Here is my take on it using the Apple of my Eye stamp set:

Thank you card featuring the Apply of my Eye stamp set.
The best thing about this sketch is how versatile it is! Check out the rest of the Design Team's projects and you'll see what I mean. For my project I began with some Basic Gray card stock that I embossed using the Happy Heart TIEF. I layered it on a piece of Crushed Curry card stock before adhering it to a thick Whisper White card stock base. The banners are from the Have a Cuppa DSP stack...SO many fun patterns in there! I used the Triple Banner Punch on the end of each piece of DSP to create my banners.

The lemon slice image is from the Apple of my Eye stamp set and is stamped in Crushed Curry ink. I stamped the sentiment right over top using Basic Gray ink. I used the 1-3/4" circle punch to punch it out and then layered it on a 2" silver foil circle. I added some silver metallic thread and a few It's My Party Enamel Dots.

On the inside I stamped the lemon slice again, this time stamping off once before stamping inside the card. I added another sentiment in Basic Gray ink. Super quick and easy! I need to make lots more of these, as my supply of Thank You cards is getting embarrassingly low!
Be sure to give this sketch a try and share it with us over at Sunday Stamps...we'd love to see your creation!
