Peaceful Deer

Happy Tuesday...did you miss me last week? I was so completely swamped at work after being off the week before for my hubby's surgery I barely had time for sleep, let alone blogging. Thankfully, we had a long weekend here this weekend (our Canadian Thanksgiving), which allowed me to get caught up a little. Whew...missing a week in a modified semester schedule is nutso!

Anyhow, enough about me! This week I am all about the Peaceful Deer stamp set. This set also has a coordinating punch, but it is currently unavailable, so I focused entirely on the fabulous stamp set and fussy-cut my images...piece of cake! Check out this pretty, super-quick Christmas card...

quick christmas card

What makes this card so quick is the gorgeous Peaceful Place Designer Paper I used for my background. I just cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece, adhered it to a Basic White Thick card base and that's it! So easy to make beautiful backgrounds with paper this awesome!

I stamped my deer in Memento Tuxedo black ink and then coloured them with Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends, adding a hint of Light Petal Pink to the ears. I fussy-cut both deer images and popped them up on my card front. The only addition is a sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set, stamped in black and layered on a die-cut silver foil circle, cut using the Tasteful Labels dies. Here's a closer look...

I did add a wee bit of definition to the "snow" using one of the stamps in the set so that my deer weren't floating. It's amazing how that little touch grounds the images so much better.

If you'd like to learn more about this project and see other cards using this set be sure to join me this afternoon at 5 pm ET for my weekly Facebook Live. If you miss me live, you can catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...have a spectacular week and be sure to come back on Friday for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop.

Christmastime is Here...but not for long!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. It was another busy one around here, as I held my Kamp Kringle stamp camp. This was the first year for this event, and I can assure you it won't be the last! It was such fun to spend the better part of Saturday with lots of happy stampers making gift items and coordinating cards. Everyone left with five complete gifts, each with a coordinating card, ready for the Christmas season. I also spoiled them with awesome door prizes and a swag bag full of fabulous product. The reviews were glowing, so I will definitely do this event again next year.

I also had time this weekend to play with the new, limited-release, Christmastime is Here Suite, and let me tell you, once I started I didn't want to stop! The products in the suite are simply stunning!

If quick and easy cards are what you're after, the Designer Paper in this suite has exactly what you need! Check out this beautiful card that features almost no stamping...

I used three of the patterns from the DSP pack and each one is more beautiful than the next. The centrepiece of this card is the beautiful rose image, which is cut from the DSP using the Roses dies. The printed image fits the die perfectly, making it a snap to create beautiful cards in no time. The gold foil accents are absolute perfection if you are a fan of shimmer and shine (and let's be honest, what stamper DOESN'T like a little bling??) Here's a better look at that gorgeous rose...

As I mentioned, the only stamping on this card is the sentiment, which is from the coordinating Christmas Rose stamp set. I also added extra shine with some of the 1/4" Gold Shimmer Ribbon and Gold Glitter Enamel Dots. This card literally took me less than 10 minutes to make and is a total WOW.  The hardest part was stamping the inside panel...

I stamped some of the pine branches from the Christmas Rose set in Mossy Meadow ink and the pinecones in Soft Suede. The sentiment is also from the Christmas Rose set.

I'll be featuring this card and two others using this suite in this week's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook Business page. Each week I do a live broadcast of stamping "TV" when I demonstrate step-by-step how to make three projects. It's lots of fun and sometime unpredictable, but I love doing it and would love to have you join me at 5 pm ET. If you can't catch me live you can check out the replay on my Facebook page or, later in the week, on my YouTube channel.  Keep in mind that all of the products in the Christmastime is Here suite are available only while supplies last, so if you like what you see, be sure to order them sooner than later.

Thanks for stopping by this week. I hope you have a week full of unexpected blessings!

Impressions of Spring

Happy Monday...and happy April! We sure had one heck of an April Fool's trick played on us by Mother Nature here...we woke up to 4" of fresh snow on the ground! It was a beautiful winter wonderland...except it's not winter! Enough with the snow already!

Now, today marks the launch of the fabulous new Storage by Stampin' Up! line...and this is no joke! I am SOOOO excited about these new storage options!

Now, I've always been pretty happy with my storage systems, but I seriously can't wait to get my hands on this new line. I have already been planning how I want to rearrange things to work in this new system. Organizing makes my heart soooo happy! Check out this fun video that gives a sneak peek of some of the possibilities...

Now...on to today's project! All this wintry weather has me longing for spring colour and flowers, so I decided to focus on the Abstract Impressions stamp set and Springtime Impressions Thinlits this week. These beauties from the Annual Catalogue didn't get enough love from me last summer when they first came out, so I pulled them out this weekend and came up with this cheery card...

Now, I am a huge fan of Impressionist art...I have Monet prints all over my house...so this stamp set really speaks to me. The images are so fun and easy to stamp and layer because they are imperfect. That means there really is no wrong way to stamp them! Gotta love that! This set is perfect for newer stampers who maybe haven't quite mastered their technique yet...it looks good no matter what!

I used Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape as my colour palette. The flowers are stamped off once in Highland Heather and then the highlights are added full strength. I added a touch of Gingham Gala DSP and half a Pearlized Doily, along with some Old Olive linen thread.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel and stamped another garden of pretty flowers.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others in my Tuesday Live @ Five video tomorrow over on my Facebook page. I hope you'll join me, but if you can't, you'll find the video later in the week on the Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great week!

Hey Love Treats

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was super-busy as I hosted my Sale-a-bration Bingo event on Saturday evening. We had a great time and my guests enjoyed browsing my displays of new products and project ideas. One lucky guest was the big winner of three of the five bingo games!
Now that that event is finished it's time to start thinking about Valentine's Day which, believe it or not, is exactly one month from today! I just love creating cute treat holders for my kiddos at school (yes, even teenagers like getting sweet treats) and for my son's classmates. I pulled out the adorable Hey Love stamp set, which will be my featured product all week long.

Check out this adorable treat box...

If you haven't checked out the adorable pillow boxes in the annual catalogue yet, you are missing out! I love them for quick and easy treat packaging. This one holds four Ghirardelli chocolate caramels squares...such a yummy Valentine's treat!

I just adore the sweet gorilla image from the Hey Love stamp set and coloured him using Smokey Slate and Basic Black Stampin' Blends. I'm featuring this project in my Tuesday Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page, so be sure to check it out for some colouring tips and all of the measurements.

I decorated my box using some All my Love DSP and coordinating ribbon. The hearts are cut using the new Be Mine Stitched Framelits...sooooo in love with that set (pardon the pun!). I'll be featuring them NEXT week! I decided to fussy cut my sentiment so that I could spread it out across the top of the focal image.

I think this little box will find it's way into my son's Valentines basket this year, though there are some other really cute ideas I came up with while playing with this set. Be sure to check them all out in my Tuesday Live @ Five video or later in the week on the Video Tutorials tab above.

Thanks for stopping by today...I'll be back tomorrow for our monthly Stamping Symphony team blog hop. In the meantime, have a great day!
