A Flowering Rain Boots Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday! Can you believe the first day of spring is just FIVE days away! Hallelujah!! I am SO over cold and snow...bring on April showers and May flowers. This month, our Stamping Symphony blog hop is all about spring. Check out this easy fun fold I made using the Flowering Rain Boots bundle...

I've done variations on this fun fold in the past, but I am SO loving the bright, cheerful colour palette on this one! I used Granny Apple Green, Polished Pink and Bumblebee. Now if that doesn't say spring, I don't know what does! The DSP comes from the colour family 6" x  6" packs...I'm desperately afraid they are going to retire and I have A TON of it left! Expect to see lots of these patterns from me in the weeks to come ;)

I stamped the rain boot image on a piece of New Horizons DSP...it is the pattern with the pink water color wash...and I love the added texture it gives the stamped image. The tulips are stamped in Bumblebee ink and the leaves and stems are Granny Apple Green.

This fold is great because it still stands on a desk and is a bit of a twist on a standard tent-fold card.

The front flap opens to reveal another panel with a greeting and space to write a short message. I also added some more tulips, but those could be omitted for more space to write. Another option, if you have a longer message, is to write on the back side of the card base.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others with the Flowering Rain Boots Bundle in today's Facebook Live @ Five over on my Facebook business page. All of the measurements will be posted in the video description for easy, one-stop crafting. If you are unable to join me live you can catch the replay over on my YouTube channel shortly afterwards, where I will also post the measurements for you.

Now it's time to hop on over to Sandy's blog to see what gorgeousness she has in store...

Oval Occasions and a Blog Hop

Happy First-Monday-After-the-Time-Change...how are you holding up? I have to say, this is the hardest the change has ever hit me, due, in large part, to the change in dates for spring break. Normally I'm on holidays this week, but, here in Ontario, Covid numbers are once again on the rise and our Ministry of Ed decided to postpone the break until mid-April. Not sure how that helps anything, but it is what it is and it means that I have to drag myself through this week after having lost an hour of sleep over the weekend. Gotta say, I REALLY liked it better when I was on vacation this week!

But enough complaints from me...it is the 15th of the month, which means it is time for another Stamping Symphony blog hop! We are down a few stampers this month, as some are taking a break, but there is still some awesome inky inspiration to be had!

This month we are all about spring and I thought it would be the perfect time to showcase the fabulous Oval Occasions Bundle...

Check out this adorable baby card...

I used a piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper for my background...I love the subtle tone-on-tone look of this pattern. I layered it with a piece of Purple Posy DSP from the out-going In-Color family 6" x 6" stack. Highland Heather is seriously going to miss Purple Posy...and so am I!

I die-cut a wreath from Soft Sea Foam card stock using the Wreath Builder dies and layered it behind my stamped stitched circle. I used Basic Gray ink to stamp my image and Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam and Grey Granite Blends to colour it in. This image is so stinkin' sweet! My sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey ink and punched using the Double Oval Punch. I added just a hint of a square vellum doily to soften and frame the sentiment. Here's a closer look...

To embellish and soften the look, I added some Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and a few Pastel Pearls. I love this look! This card could easily be made as an Easter card with just a change in sentiment...gotta love a versatile design.

On the inside of my Purple Posy card base, I added a Basic White panel on which I stamped another sentiment in Basic Grey and some sweet little flowers, which I coloured with my Blends.

I absolutely ADORE this card...so soft and pretty...perfect for a sweet new baby or to send Easter wishes.
I demonstrated this card and two others using the Oval Occasions bundle in the video below...check it out!

Springtime Joy

Happy Tuesday! Is it warming up where you live? This week marks the first time in months that the temperature will hit double digits. Spring is most definitely in the air and I have a touch of spring fever! I pulled out the adorable Springtime Joy stamp set and had such fun playing with soft pastel shades to design pretty spring-inspired projects like this one...

easter card

Isn't that little lamb just the sweetest?? I stamped him in Basic Grey ink and coloured him using Light Grey Granite, Light Purple Posy and Light Soft Sea Foam. I also gave him a little blush on his cheeks and nose with a touch of Light Petal Pink. I used the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes dies to die-cut him out and then nestled that on two die-cut wreaths in Soft Sea Foam card stock. I added some punched flowers in Purple Posy and Basic White with silver metallic pearl centres. Here's a closer look...

I used Purple Posy card stock for the background layer and embossed it using the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Springtime Joy stamp set and is stamped in Basic Grey ink on a label die-cut using the Messages die. I added some polka dot tulle ribbon for softness and texture (and because it's pretty!).

On the inside of the card I stamped another sentiment from the Springtime Joy set and a little butterfly, both in Basic Grey ink. I coloured the butterfly using the Purple Posy Blends. Just a note when colouring on the inside of your card with blends...be sure to add a layer, so that the colour doesn't bleed through to the back of your card.
