A New Colour Challenge

It's time for a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps!  Check it out:

Here is my Design Team submission...

Baby Boy card featuring the Baby, We've Grown stamp set
Sometimes when I see a colour combo I can immediately picture exactly what I want to do with in my head...this was one of those times.  I knew I wanted to use the sweet bunny from the Baby, We've Grown stamp set.  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo black ink and then coloured him using Smokey Slate and Soft Sky Blendabilities.  I punched him out using the 1-3/4" circle punch and then layered him on a 2" Soft Sky circle and a 2-3/8" Smokey Slate Scalloped Circle.  The DSP I used is from the Neutrals Backgrounds DSP stack.  I layered it on a piece of Whisper White card stock on which I had stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo black ink.  I coloured the sentiment using the Soft Sky Blendabilities.  The front panel is layered on Basic Gray card stock and then mounted on a Soft Sky card base.

I added half of a Tea Lace Doily, some Soft Sky Seam Binding ribbon and three little silver glimmer hearts punched with the Hearts Border punch by way of embellishment.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment (from Zoo Babies) in Smokey Slate and added the "Brand New" label that I coloured with Soft Sky Blendabilities and die-cut using the Starburst Framelits, along with a few silver glimmer hearts punched with the Confetti Hearts Border punch.

Be sure to visit Sunday Stamps to check out the rest of the Design Team's work and then give this colour combo a try.  We'd love to see what you come up with!

Sweet Baby

Happy Good Friday!  I hope you have plans to spend quality time with those you love this weekend.  I know I'll be hanging with my two favourite men!
Today I have a gender-neutral baby card I designed for my upcoming Brides, Babies and Birthdays Card Buffet.  I managed to use primarily supplies from old kits I had laying around from past events...gotta love using up odds and ends!

Baby card featuring the Hearts A-flutter and Baby We've Grown stamp sets
I used a colour scheme of Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Calypso Coral to keep as gender-neutral as possible.  The stamp sets I used were Baby We've Grown and Hearts A-flutter.

On the inside I used a sentiment from Cuddles and Kisses...

Quick and easy...perfect for making a stack in a hurry!

Quckie Baby card

Today's post will be a quickie...I am busily preparing to host a baby shower for my teaching partner at school.  Friday afternoon my home will be filled with colleagues as we wish the momma-to-be well and shower her with all of the necessities of mommyhood.  I've handmade all of the decor and favours as well as a set of thank you cards to give as a gift...I'll post photos tomorrow ;)
Yesterday I showed you three cards I made using the Watercolour Wonder Designer Note Cards...today I have another, appropriately, baby themed one!

Baby card featuring the Baby We've Grown stamp set and Watercolour Wonder Designer Note Cards.
Cute, huh?  And so darned easy!  I just stamped the two images in Staz On and then coloured them using my blender pen and ink pads.  Piece o' cake!  Good thing, 'cuz I've got 20 women coming over tomorrow and my house is a disaster!  Wish me luck...I'll let you know how it goes!

Hello Baby

A colleague of mine is expecting her first baby at the end of March and I am hosting a shower for her in a couple of weeks.  I put together some invitations for the shower based on her nursery colour scheme...

Isn't that little bunny the cutest thing?? I just adore him...he reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit.  I stamped him in Staz on and coloured him in using a blender pen and Smokey Slate, Summer Starfruit and Crisp Cantaloupe markers.  The tag the bunny is stamped on was punched with the new Scalloped Tag Topper punch...love that thing!  So easy to make tags of any size...I'm also using it to make the favours for the shower...more on those later ;)

I made 19 of these, so I got lots of watercolouring practice ;)  Since the mommy-to-be doesn't know whether she's having a boy or a girl I kept it as gender-neutral as I could but couldn't resist adding a bit of lace and some bling for mommy (who is a real girlie-girl).  She loved it!

On the actual invitations I replaced the Hello Baby sentiment with You're Invited and then printed the shower details on the inside of the card.  I figured you wouldn't really be interested in where this gal is registered and what time her shower is at, so I changed up the inside for you...

I'm excited about this shower!  I have some fun ideas for decor that I'll show you when I get it made.  In the meantime, it's back to bed for me as I work on getting rid of this yucky sinus thing.  Have a great day, everyone!
