Pressed Petals Thank You and a Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday...or perhaps I should say happy BOGO-day! Today is my big, big BOGO sale where I give away new product from the annual catalogue of equal value to purchases of retired products from my sale. It is a crazy-popular event...doors open at 8 am and I typically have a line-up of eager shoppers waiting. I mean, who doesn't love free stuff, right?

Today also marks our monthly Stamping Symphony team blog hop...

This month we are all about new products and, since I'm focusing on the gorgeous new Pressed Petals Suite this week, I thought I'd share another project I demonstrated in this week's Live @ Five video...

This simple, vintage-inspired thank you card is made quickly and easily thanks to the gorgeous DSP and awesome washi tape. The sheet music DSP is crumpled, smoothed out and distressed with Soft Suede ink before being adhered to the Crumb Cake card base. I love the extra texture the wrinkles add!
Speaking of texture, isn't that linen-look label fabulous? That's more of the DSP, die-cut using the Stitched Nested Labels dies. It is so realistic, you pretty much have to touch it to see if it is actual linen! Here's a closer look...

Now, how about that pretty flower? Can you believe it is Washi tape?? This stuff is, hands down, my favourite new product. It is so fast and easy to create pretty flowers by just peeling each petal off the roll and sticking it down! If you haven't already gotten your hands on some of this tape, you NEED it. Trust me. The sentiment label is die-cut from Mossy Meadow card stock using the Petal Labels dies...another must-have in my book! I added a little Bird Ballad Trinket and some Braided Linen Trim by way of embellishment. Gotta love simple, but pretty!

For a demonstration of how I put this card together, check out my video...

Thanks for stopping by this weekend...see you Monday for my weekly feature.

Pressed Petals

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was as fabulous as mine! The weather here was absolutely stunning...perfect temperatures, blue skies and lots of sunshine. It has been a VERY long time since we've had a string of days like that! Unfortunately, today we are back to rain, which seems to be our default this summer. Ah well...more time for stamping on rainy days, right?

This weekend I had a chance to play with my first shipment of new catalogue goodies. It was seriously like Christmas! So many beautiful new products to inspire my creativity! I had loads of fun playing with the new Pressed Petals Suite...so much so that I change my plans and made it my product of this week this week! The suite has so many awesome components and I am in love with all of them!

Just LOOK at all that awesomeness! Here is one of many projects I created using this suite...

Can I just say how utterly gorgeous this Designer Paper is??? I pretty much let it do all the talking on every project I made this weekend...it's just that beautiful! Here, I used the new Scripty 3D embossing folder on Crumb Cake card stock and then lightly sponged it with Soft Suede ink. Then I layered two of the beautiful DSP patterns to create a backdrop for the beautiful die-cut sentiment label.

Now, do you see those flower petals peeking out from behind the label? They totally look like real flower petals, don't they? They are actually from the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape!! Yep...they're tape! Each petal peels off the roll individually making it an absolute breeze to create beautiful realistic looking flowers in a snap. This may just be my favourite product of all time! Of course, the coordinate perfectly with the pressed flower images on the DSP...Stampin' Up! is good that way ;)

I added some Mossy Meadow linen thread and a little key from the Bird Ballad trinkets, as well las some scalloped lace trim by way of embellishment.

On the inside, I added a Very Vanilla card stock panel and embellished it with a little die-cut strip of the same floral DSP I used on the front. The sentiment is from the Path of Petals stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others, as well as showcasing all of the products in this beautiful suite in this week's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook page. I hope you'll join me live, but if you miss the broadcast you can watch the replay on my Facebook page, YouTube channel or here on the Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page.

Be sure to stop by this weekend. Friday is my 9-year Stampin' Up! Anniversary and I have some surprises in store! Till then, have a fabulous week...thanks for stopping by!
