Oooh Baby...my new catty is here!!

Sorry I'm posting so late...I've been busy since I got home from work drooling over my copy of the new catalogue!!!  There is SOOO much gorgeous stuff in there and I know I've missed half of it!  I started my wish list but had to stop when I hit four pages!  My poor, poor bank account...it will never be the same come July 1st.  Along with my catalogue came my sneak peek pre-order.  Of course I was torn over whether to spend the evening with the catalogue or playing with my new toys...so I did a little of both.  The following card is for the Paper Players "Anything Goes" challenge this week and uses several of the fantastic new products:  new DSP called "Flirtatious (the doily is cut from it), a new lace ribbon border punch (this may become a new favourite!), and the Delicate Doilies stamp set.  I LOVE IT ALL!!  You will too...check it out...

So...whaddya think?  Could it get any more girlie?  I just love this feminine look and everything in the Flirtatious Suite is just as pretty.  You are going  to love it, I promise!  For now, I'm off to bed to spend some more quality time with my catalogue!  I'll be back with another sneak peek tomorrow!

PPA89 Challenge

Here is yet another card I did for an online challenge.  This one is for Pals Paper Arts  challenge 89.  The inspiration for this week was this photo:

Aren't these flowers gorgeous?!?  When I saw this photo I immediately thought of the new Flower Garden embossing folder from the upcoming Summer Mini.  It came with my preorder and had sat unopened for over a week!!  Time to crack it out and have some fun!  Here is what I came up with:

PPA89 - Flowers!!  card using the new Flower Garden embossing folder and coordinating Beyond the Garden DSP

Inside of card  using Fabulous Florets stamp set (can we say COORDINATI|NG PRODUCTS?!?  Dontcha just love SU?!?) also from the upcoming Summer Mini.
This card is so bright and summery and cheerful...I just can't help but love it!  The best part is that I made it on a day when we were having a major spring snow storm!!  (Thankfully none of the snow stuck around, but it was NASTY here yesterday!).  I hope it brightens your day as much as it did mine!

Colour Coach Combo...Not too sure About This One!

When Stampin' Up! Came out with the new colour coach last summer I was thrilled.  It is a great tool for help creating a colour palette for projects and I use it frequently.  A couple of days ago I sat down to stamp,  determined to create a card using both my Framed Tulips embossing folder and the Silhouette Sentiments level one hostess set.  The former because I have had it for over a month and hadn't used it (gasp!) and the latter because I have often heard hostesses tell me they like the images in the Silhouette Sentiments set but think they are too small to make cards with.  So, as I often do, I pulled out my colour coach and flipped to the perfect plum page.  One of the combos there is perfect plum, marina mist and rose red.  I wasn't sure about this combination at the time, but thought I'd give it a go.  I have to say that I'm still not sure about it, but figured I'd post the card and let you all decide for yourselves.  See what you think...

This card came together quite easily.  I started by embossing my cardfront with the framed tulips embossing folder.  So easy and quick with the Big Shot!  I then stamped the two floral image, one in marina mist and one in perfect plum, three times each on a piece of scrap whisper white cardstock.  I punched out the flowers using my 1 1/4" square punch and sponged the edges in marina mist.  I then punched three 1 3/8" squares in perfect plum and three scallop squares in marina mist.  I layered the stamped squares on the plum and marina mist ones and adhered them.  I then wrapped a piece of rose red seam binding ribbon around the cardfront, securing it with glue dots.  I gathered the ribbon at one side of the card using a bit of linen thread.   I tied another piece of the same ribbon in a bow, adding a rose red glimmer brad at the centre.  I adhered the bow to the card with glue dots, covering the spot where I had gathered the strip of ribbon with the thread.  The result looks like the ribbon is all one piece.  I then arranged the stamped and matted squares, adhering the outside ones with SNAIL and the centre one with dimensionals.  The sentiment, from the You're A Gem set, was stamped on a scrap of whisper white cardstock in perfect plum, punched out with my word window punch and adhered with dimensionals.  The final touch on the front of the card was the little rhinestone gems for the centres of the flowers and to highlight the sentiment.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Occasional Quotes set, inking it with my rose red and perfect plum markers.  I punched it out with my decorative label punch and layered it on a second decorative label in marina mist.  I used the ribbon to highlight my sentiment by centering the label on the ribbon and adhering it with dimensionals.  The shorter sentiment was stamped in perfect plum and punched out with the wide oval punch and then layered on a decorative label in marina mist.  I added some more rhinestones because...well...I like bling!  The final touch was to stamp the floral images from the front of the card inside using perfect plum ink.

So...what do you think of this colour combo?  Leave me a comment and tell me..I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Wheely Easy Card!

Ok...sorry about the bad pun, but this card was easy thanks to my Friendly Words wheel and some embossing powder.  Check it out...

Fast and easy card using Friendly Words wheel.

I designed this card for one of my monthly clubs.  This month we were doing a birthday ensemble that was fairly involved, so I wanted a quick and easy card to end the evening with.  Since we were using wheels on the gift bag and tissue for the birthday set, I figured we may as well keep things "rolling" along and use another wheel here.  Here are the details...
Starting with a 6 x 2 1/2" piece of rich razzleberry cardstock, rub the entire surface with an emboossing buddy and then wheel the Friendly words wheel across the length of the card using a cartridge inked with Versamark.  Sprinkle silver EP over the entire image and then heat with heat tool.  Tie a piece of 5/8" satin ribbon in basic gray (retired...you could also use basic black) around the top of the embossed piece.  Layer  this piece on a 6" x 2 3/4" piece of brushed silver cardstock, then adhere the whole thing to a 6" x 3" basic black card  base.
For the inside, adhere a 6"x2 3/4" piece of going gray (retired, you could also use brushed silver) cardstock.  Ink the sentiment from the You're A Gem set using rich razzleberry and basic black markers and stamp on a scrap of whisper white cardstock.  Punch it out using the curly label punch.  Trim the sentiment and adhere to another curly label in rich razzleberry.  Add rhinestone and adhere to card using dimensionals.
It doesn't get any easier than this!
