You Make Me Happy

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. The weather is absolutely FREEZING here! Today's windchills are at -33C...brrrr!! I managed to keep warm in my studio this weekend prepping for my classes this week. I have a BIG birthday card buffet that had me cutting and prepping 300 cards! Needless to say, my paper cutter and Big Shot got a GOOD workout!

This week I am featuring the Meant To Be Bundle...after all, Valentine's Day is just three weeks away and it's time to get creating projects for our loved ones.

I have to say, this die set surprised me. The photo in the catalogue is really tiny, making it hard to distinguish the different dies in the set. When I opened the package I was thrilled to see so many images beyond basic hearts. I have used this set A TON since it arrived! Check out this pretty fun fold I'll be featuring on this weeks Tuesday Live @ Five video over on Facebook...

Now, this card is anything but quick and easy, but it is so, so worth the effort!

I used a ton of dies from the set and had fun layering and playing with different combinations. I used some of the gorgeous All my Love DSP for the background and then based my colour scheme on it, using Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White, with a wee pop of Lovely Lipstick for the sentiment.

This fold is so easy, yet provides a really wow, as it creates a 3D effect which really makes these die-cut images the star of the show.

With so much going on on the front of the card,  I kept it simple on the inside with a stamped heart image and another sentiment from the Meant to Be stamp set...

Be sure to check out my video tomorrow at 5 pm ET on my Facebook page or later on YouTube or the Video Tutorials tab above. I am having so much fun doing these live videos each week...so much better to show you how to make the card than tell you! I hope you'll join me or check out the recording. You'll find the full supply list below and all of the cutting measurements will be in the video description.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a fantastic week!

A Little Weekend Love

Happy weekend!!  I hope you've had a good week.  I've been feeling a little under the weather, but I'm hoping it doesn't develop into anything more than that. There are so many nasty bugs around at this time of year!
To celebrate the weekend I thought I'd show you the card I made using the Bloomin' Heart die-cut that I made back in November at the On-Stage Local event I attended. It took me a while to get around to doing something with it, but I'm liking the end result...

Friendship card featuring products from the Love Blossoms Suite in the new Occasions Catalogue
I began by layering my die-cut heart (which, by the way was cut from the Love Blossoms DSP stack) on a piece of textured Basic Gray card stock I had in my stash. (The textured card stock retired ages ago but I still have a few odd pieces sitting around!) I like the way the texture in the card stock works with the pattern on the DSP die-cut. From there I created a collage of various products. I used a tag punched from another pattern in the Love Blossoms stack using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. I also used a small silver metallic doily for some shine. The sentiment is from the Bloomin' Love stamp set, as is the banner image. I stamped the banner in Basic Gray ink and then heat embossed the sentiment in silver. I fussy cut the banner.

The Blushing Bride satin ribbon and that sweet little Rose Red satin bow are from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit...so many good things in there! The little bow comes on an antiqued gold paper clip, but since that didn't work with my colour scheme, I removed the bow and adhered it to my tag with a glue dot. The final touch was a string of pearls below the ribbon and a few odd pearls scattered around. The entire card is built on a thick Whisper White card base.

Inside view with sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
On the inside I heat embossed the sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set in silver and then added a wee flower from the Bloomin' Love set. I used Rose Red ink for the outline and Blushing Bride to fill it in. The stem is stamped in Smokey Slate ink.

I hope your weekend is super and offers lots of time for stamping!
