Happy Saturday! If you're surprised to hear from me on the weekend it is because it is the 15th and once again time for our Stamping Symphony Blog Hop!
This month we are about Saleabration or Love and, since I've been all about the Sweet Talk Suite all week, I went with love as my theme and designed a cute shaker card. Check it out...
I fussy-cut several of the candy images from one of the DSP patterns to act as the filling for my shaker. The little candies and lollypops are perfect! To create my shaker I began with a 3" x 4" piece of DSP, which I inserted into a clear envelope. Then I added my shaker bits, trimmed the excess off the envelope and sealed my shaker using Tear 'n' Tape. This is a super-quick and easy way to make a shaker that has no bulk and mails easily.
I layered my shaker on a scalloped border cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies and then adhered it to another piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper. I added some Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon and a cute tag cut using the Sweet Hearts dies.
On the inside I added a piece of Basic White card stock on which I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Conversations set in Basic Gray and the hugs and kisses image in Real Red.
Be sure to check out the other amazing creations in our hop...
Happy Tuesday...how are you? I hope you had a joyous Christmas filled with love and peace. Here it was a quiet one, as my son was isolating due to a confirmed exposure to Covid in one of his classes at school. To be honest, it was kind of nice to not go anywhere or see anyone. It made for a ver relaxing few days! It also allowed me lots of time to play with new products! The 2022 January-June Mini and Sale-a-bration launch a week from today and I am counting down the days by featuring a different Sale-a-bration freebie each day. So you can expect a whole lot of post this week, along with a daily Facebook Live each afternoon at 5 ET...you're going to be sick of hearing from me by the end of the week!
Today I'm kicking off my countdown with one of my favourite Sale-a-bration items...the Awesome Otters stamp set. Check out these ca-ute samples...
This one also features the fabulous Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper...another SAB freebie that I'll be featuring later in the week!
This one uses another SAB freebie...the Simply Marbleous Designer Paper...so perfect with these cute little otters!
The sentiment on this one is from the Special Moments SAB stamp set...a fantastic Level 2 option.
This adorable shaker card is one I will be demonstrating in today's Facebook Live...it comes together so quickly! I used the Bark 3D embossing folder to emboss the Misty Moonlight card stock for the background. The water-like effect behind my shaker is die-cut from the Simply Marbleous Designer Paper...I see A LOT of this stuff in my future! I filled my shaker with some of the new Sparkle & Shine Sequins.
I used the Layering Diorama dies to create the pool for my otter to float in...the label is die-cut using the Hippo & Friends dies.
The sentiment on this inside of the card is from the Special Moments SAB stamp set...so many great sentiments in that set!
I demonstrated this card in the video below:
Thanks for stopping by...see you tomorrow for Day Two!
Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a good weekend and that your week is off to a great start. Things here are hectic, as usual, as I try to balance the demands of teaching in a pandemic and my Stampin' Up! business. Some days there just aren't enough hours...thank goodness for a very understanding family who pick up the slack on household chores when I'm too busy!
Last weekend I had a chance to play with the Celebration Tidings bundle and had great fun designing cards and treat packaging. The great thing about this bundle is that it includes images and sentiments for all of the fall holidays, making it super-versatile. Check out the bundle below...
Here is a shaker card and coordinating treat holder I made using the bundle and the Plaid Tidings DSP from the same suite...
The treat holder uses two different-sized labels from the Celebration Labels dies. I embossed the larger, Basic Black label using the Cobwebs embossing folder and then cut slits using a craft knife that allowed me to slide a treat-sized chocolate bar between them. The smaller label is cut from Plaid Tidings DSP and is adhere to the front of the larger label to conceal the hidden treat. I added a full moon punched from Mango Melody card stock using the 2" circle punch and some little black glittery bats I die-cut using the Halloween Magic Dies. The sentiment is from the Celebration Tidings stamp set and is stamped in Memento black ink on a die-cut stitched rectangle. I added a little silver foil spider web, cut with the Peek-a-Hoot dies, and a little stamped and die-cut spider. Such a fun way to package a simple Halloween treat!
As much as I love the treat holder, I think I love the shaker card more! Who wouldn't love to receive this fun card filled with glittery black bats and colourful sequins? I used the Celebration Labels dies to cut my window and lined the back of the shaker with more of the same pattern of Plaid Tidings DSP. The sentiment is the same one I used on the treat holder, but this time I layered it on a strip of Mango Melody card stock before adding more little stamped and die-cut spiders. My favourite part of this card is that gorgeous metallic mesh ribbon...I love the sparkle it adds...just like a spider web!
Here is the video in which I demonstrate these projects. Included in the video description on my YouTube channel are all of the measurements for both projects:
Thanks so much for stopping by this week. I hope you have a spectacular day!
