Whew!

Well, I'm back from Ottawa and what a week it has been! My super-awesome-amazing students won GOLD at Nationals!!!

I am so stinkin' proud of those kids...they were absolutely fantastic the entire week and they played their hearts out. This award was so well-deserved.

Now that Nationals is behind me I am refocusing on the upcoming release of the new Annual Catalogue in just two weeks. Today's project is one I created using a new bundle of products...

I have to say, I am fast falling in love with the Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. Here I used one of the Thinlit dies to cut Cucumber Crush card stock to form the "grass" on my card. I have so many ideas for this die floating around in my brain...can't wait until I have time to make them come to life! To create the flowers, I stamped the stems in Cucumber Crush ink and then added the little blossoms in Watermelon Wonder and Flirty Flamingo. The sentiment, from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set, is also stamped in Flirty Flamingo. I bent the photopolymer stamp so that it followed the curve on the die-cut...I love that about the photopolymer stamps!

The sun is another stamp image from the Swirly Bird set and is stamped in Crushed Curry ink. I added some Cucumber Crush thick baker's twine and a couple of It's My Party Enamel Dots to the centres of the larger flowers. The front panel is mounted on a Cucumber Crush card base.

On the inside I stamped more little flowers (how cute are they??) and added another sentiment from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set in Cucumber Crush ink.

Have you requested your free copy of the new catalogue yet? I am mailing catalogues this week, so if you are in Canada and don't already have a demonstrator, send me a quick email to request a copy and I'll get one out to you lickety split! You are going to LOVE it!!

Have a fabulous week!

Swirly In-Colour Sneak Peek

Yesterday my favourite brown truck brought several boxes of hot-of-the-presses copies of the new 2016/17 Annual Catalogue! Although I've had access to a pdf version of it for a couple of weeks now, I have been dying to get my hands on a physical copy. There's just nothing like sitting with a glass of one's favourite white wine and browsing all that crafty awesomeness!
Today I have the Make-n-takes we did at my monthly team meeting this week. They feature the new In-Colours and TWO new stamp sets...

Set of four notecards featuring the new 2016-17 In-colours and the Swirly Bird and Thoughtful Banners stamp sets (all available beginning June 1st!)
Aren't those colours just yummy??  Here's a closer look at each card:

This colour combo is Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy. That ruched ribbon is to-die-for! The banner and sentiment are from the Thoughtful Banners set and they are punched using the new Duet Banner punch (LOVE!).

This one is Peek-a-boo Peach with Emerald Envy. The little dots are done with the gold Wink of Stella.

This pretty pink is Flirty Flamingo...it truly is a coral, flamingo-y pink.

And finally, my favourite (for the moment!) Dapper Denim. Such a perfect shade of blue! The green that I used on all four cards is also one of the new In-colours called Emerald Envy. It is a rich jewel tone that is so trendy right now! I love that Stampin' Up! stays current and on-trend with new colours every year.

Today I am headed to Ottawa for the rest of the week, taking my band from school to perform at Nationals. Good times...me and 26 teenagers :) If you don't hear from me for a few days, you'll know why!! Wish us luck...we perform at 8:00 am on Thursday morning!

Shiny Sunday and Sneak Peeks

Happy Mother's Day! I hope today finds you celebrating with those you love. Unfortunately my mom lives too far away for me to be able to spend the day with her, but I sure will do my best to make sure she knows just how much she is loved and appreciated.
Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps...

This sketch is soooo versatile! The possibilities are virtually endless, though we are encouraged to create a scene with it. So here is my project for the Design Team...

Can you spot the new products on this card?? There are two items from the upcoming 2016/17 Annual Catalogue. Firstly I began with some Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP...in fact, it was the pattern on the piece that I used that inspired this entire project! I layered behind the DSP a piece of Cucumber Crush card stock which I had embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF and sponged lightly with ink of the same colour. The sunburst is die-cut from Daffodil Delight card stock using the Sunburst Thinlits (which are carrying over into the new catty...yay!). I stamped each ray with the dotted border from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set using Daffodil Delight ink. Then I sponged the edges of the die-cut and added sparkled with the clear Wink of Stella glitter pen.

The swirly gold die-cut behind the sentiment was created with the second new product I used called Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. Let me just say they are the bomb!! I am in love with them! Here I die cut the largest swirl from gold foil sheets. The sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set and is heat embossed in gold. I added a few gold sequins for just a little more sparkle. The whole card is built on a piece of Pool Party card stock and then adhered to a Night of Navy card base.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped another of the sentiments from the Sunburst Sayings set in Night of Navy ink. I added a stamped swirl in Daffodil Delight from another new product called Swirly Bird. This stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Swirls and Scribbles Thinlits and will be available in a discounted bundle June 1st. The final touch on the inside was a little gold glimmer heart punched with Heart Border punch, which will be retiring June 1st.

Be sure to check back this week as I showcase more new products. I'm having great fun getting to know the new In-Colours and all the fabulous new possibilites they offer. In the meantime, but sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects and then give this sketch a try...it is a great one!
