A Swirly Smile and a Flash Sale!

PP_One Day Deal_Demo Header

Today is THE day! Starting this evening at 7:00 ET new Paper Pumpkin Subscribers can get their first month's kit for only $7 CAD / $5 USD! There is no catch...it really is THAT good a deal! Why is Stampin' Up! practically giving away Paper Pumpkin kits? Because they are THAT sure that once you try it you will LOVE it!! Check out this quick video...

So, are you ready to give it a try? You really don't have much to lose. If you hate the kit when it comes you can cancel your subscription before July 10th and not be charged another cent. But you won't hate the kit. I promise ;) Click the image above to order your kit today after 7:00 pm ET, because it goes away tomorrow night at midnight!

Now for a project...are you sick of cards using the Swirly Bird bundle yet? Hope not, because I have one more to share with you. Then I promise I'll showcase some of the other thousands of fabulous products in the new catty. This is another one we'll be making at my class that features this bundle next week end...

Can you believe how many different images you can create with this set? The kit is yet another fun and versatile one. Here I've stamped the kite in Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach ink and then fussy cut it out. The string is also stamped in Dapper Denim and the little bitty bows are Peekaboo Peach. I love those two new In-colours together! The clouds are punched from vellum using the Tree Builder and Cupcake Builder (retired) punches.

My favourite thing about this card is the background. I REALLY wanted to use the new Seaside TIEF with it's wavy pattern, but alas, my new catalogue order hadn't arrived yet; so I had to improvise. I diecut some scrap card stock using the long wavy Thinlit in the Swirly Scribbles set and then used it as a stencil. I daubered Dapper Denim ink to create a wavy pattern...and I love the way it turned out! I added a diecut piece in silver foil over top and it looks just like a gust of wind blowing my kite along. The sentiment is from the Love & Affection stamp set and is stamped in Dapper Denim ink and die cut using the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits. I added a bit of silver metallic thread for some sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped another of the sentiments from the Love & Affection set and added another kite.
This card makes me happy...and it is sure to make the recipient happy too! Have a fabulous day and don't forget to order your $7 Paper Pumpkin kit before the deal disappears tomorrow at midnight!

Swirly Boat

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. Things here have been craaaazy busy, but good. I held my retired product sale and new catty launch yesterday...so much fun! I love seeing people's reactions to the awesome new products. I have TONS of new projects to share with you this week..|I'm .having lots of fun with my new goodies!
Today marks the start of a new sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps. I LOVE this sketch...so many awesome possibilities:

Here is my take on it:

I have been wanting to make a boat card using the Swirly Bird set for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity! I stamped my boat in Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry and Real Red ink and then fussy cut it out. The sun is stamped in Crushed Curry with a little bit of Pumpkin Pie daubered around the edges.I layered the focal image on some Real Red card stock to pull in a bit more of the red...very nautical, no? I added some Crushed Curry card stock behind the matted focal image. The background Whisper White layer is embossed using the Softly Falling TIEF and is layered on a Dapper Denim card base.

To create the water, I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and die cut twice; once with Pacific Point card stock, and once with Marina Mist. Then I used the negative pieces from the Marina Mist one to fill in the spaces on the Pacific Point die-cut. I love the effect that creates. The sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set and is stamped in Dapper Denim ink. I added a little silver button (retired) and some Cherry Cobbler baker's twine.

On the inside I stamped the boat again but this time created the water using the spatter image from the Swirly Bird set. I stamped it in Marina Mist and Pacific Point ink several times along the bottom edge of the Whisper White panel. The sentiment is from the Endless Thanks stamp set and is stamped in Dapper Denim and Real Red ink.

Be sure the check out the rest of the Sunday Stamps design team's projects and then give this challenge a go. It is a fun sketch to work with! Have a super Sunday!

Oh, the Anticipation...

...of a new catalogue!! One more sleep until the new 2016/17 Annual Catalogue goes live and I am like a kid on Christmas Eve! So many amazing new products I can't wait to get my hands on. Now, this also means that today is the LAST DAY to order retiring products from the Occasions and 2015/16 Annual Catalogues...don't be disappointed and miss out on those items you've been meaning to pick up.
Now for a little more of what you can expect to see in the new catty...

Isn't that colour fantastic? It is the new In-colour called Sweet Sugarplum. It looks amazing paired with Mint Macaron and another new In-colour called Emerald Envy. I used the new Swirly Bird stamp set to create the flowers. To get the ombre look I first inked the stamp in Sweet Sugarplum and then daubed Rich Razzleberry around the edges of the stamp before stamping on Whisper White card stock. The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron ink and the veins are added in Emerald Envy.

I added a hint of Pool Party spatters in the background, stamping off once before stamping on the card stock for a soft look. The image is die-cut using the new Layering Squares Framelits. Now, I'll admit, I didn't think I needed those, especially since I already have the current Squares Framelits. However, once again, I was wrong! These new dies layer beautifully, leaving narrow borders AND there is a full set of scalloped squares as well as the regular ones. This set is like two sets in one! Here I layered a plain Mint Macaron square behind my stamped one and then added a scalloped Emerald Envy square. Love this look! I adhered the layered squares to a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF. I added some silver foil die-cut swirls from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and mounted it all on a Mint Macaron card base. The sentiment, from the Endless Thanks set, is stamped in Emerald Envy ink and punched using the new Duet Banner Punch. The only embellishments are a few clear sequins for a bit of sparkle.

On the inside I stamped the flowers and leaves again in the same manner I did on the front. I omitted a sentiment so that I would have lots of room to write my thoughts.

Now, I'm off to finalize my wishlist for my first new catty order tomorrow...have a great day!!
