There's a lot going on this week! It's also time for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop and this month we have an awesome sketch challenge! Check it out:
Since I'm featuring products from the Lights Aglow Suite all this week, I thought it only fitting to create a card for this sketch using those products...
I added a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set (also heat embossed in gold) and embellished with a die-cut gold snowflake, a pretty bow and a black matte dot.
On the inside I added a scrap strip of the DSP and stamped a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set in black. This card has some serious wow-factor, but is actually pretty quick and easy to put together. Join me tomorrow (Wednesday!) for my Facebook Live @ Five and I'll show you how! Or catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.
Now before you head off to shop the Seasonal Sale, be sure to check out what the rest of our team has designed...
Well, hey there! It's been a minute since my last post! To say the start-up at school has been a wee bit rough is an understatement! Our board was the victim of a cyber attack over the summer and it has left things in a wee bit of a mess. That means a ton of extra work for me, as the systems I rely on to do my job efficiently haven't been available. Soooo I've been a bit swamped...BUT today is our monthly Stamping Symphony blog hop and we are all about Christmas! Now, I know it's only October, but we crafters have to start early if we are going to get our cards made and in the mail before the holidays, right? So here's a little inspiration using a bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue...
How sweet is that chubby little bird?? I coloured him to look like a mourning dove in shades of reddish brown, using the Stampin' Blends Natural Tones collection. The die-cut pinecones and boughs are from the Christmas Pinecones dies and are cut from Evening Evergreen, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake card stock. I cut a scrap piece of Kraft card stock with the Aspen Tree dies, ending up with a partial forest background. I inked the die-cut piece with Early Espresso card stock to darken it down to coordinate with my coloured bird. I layered the die-cut over a piece of Painted Seasons Designer Paper...so glad that one carried over from last year's catalogue!
The sentiment (from one of my favourite carols!) is stamped in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake card stock and then die-cut using the Seasonal Labels dies. I added s bit of twine and a few red rhinestones for some sparkle.
On the inside, I added a layer of Basic White card stock, stamping a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set in Early Espresso ink. I added a scrap strip of DSP to match the front of the card.
I demonstrated this card in my Facebook live this week. Check out the replay below. All of the measurements for this card are listed in the video description on my YouTube channel.
Now, before you go, be sure to hop on over to Sandy's blog to see what festive fun she has in store!
Happy Thursday! Today is a BIG Day around here! Not only is it time for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop, but it is also FLASH SALE day! What's on sale, you ask? Oh, only every stamp set in the Annual Catalogue (with the exception of Host-exclusive sets)! Yep...you read that right. For 24 hrs, today only, Annual Catalogue stamp sets are on sale for 15% off. This sale happens exactly once a year and today is the day. So, after hopping along with us, head on over to my online store and score some deals on stamps!
Now on to our blog hop. This month we are all about Fall projects, but the challenge was to make anything BUT a card. So, I made this adorable treat box that would make a perfect little place-setting gift for Thanksgiving dinner...
I absolutely adore fall and all that it brings. Cooler temperatures, brightly coloured leaves, and, of course, pumpkins! The images in the Hello Harvest stamp set make my fall-loving heart happy. I used a soft orange (Pale Papaya) to colour my pumpkin, which sets it off nicely against the darker shades in the Rustic Harvest Designer Paper. Now, can you guess where the die-cut leaf and sprig came from?? They are from the Ranunculus dies! They just happened to be stored along with my Rustic Pumpkin dies and caught my eye as being perfect to pair with my stamped pumpkin.
The belly band slides off the box to reveal pretty patterns from the Rustic Harvest DSP...I can't get enough of that paper!
The box opens up to reveal a pocket that is sized to fit several treat-size candy bars or a gift card or pumpkin spice tea bags...so many possibilities! There is space on the inside flap to write a brief personalized greeting as well. Gotta love a gift that doubles as a card!
I demonstrated this box in my Facebook live this week. You can catch the replay on my YouTube channel below. Start at about 36:00 to see how this box comes together. (Or watch the entire video for more ideas with the Rustic Harvest suite!)
Happy Tuesday...and happy first day of school to those starting today. I had a GREAT first day...it is so good to have a normal startup after years of Covid disruptions! Here's my son heading out for his first day of grade ten...
Today I have a pretty fall card I made using the Fond of Autumn bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue...
I am SO in love with this bundle...it is so versatile! I'll post more project ideas I made using it at the end of my post...it really is a great one!
For the card above I used the peek-through die to cut the Kraft card stock in the background and then layered some copper foil card stock behind it. Such a pretty look for fall!
I used several shades from the Stampin' Blends Natural Tones Collection to colour the images. I was going for a muted, vintage vibe, which I think I achieved. The rustic look of the twine is the perfect finishing touch.
On the inside, I added more stamping and coloured the images using the same shades I did on the front.
I demonstrated this card and two more in my Facebook live this week. You can catch the replay below:
