Lovely Friend

Happy Friday...the weekend is here! Wahooo!! I am leaving tomorrow to head up for my annual week at my parents' place. I'm so looking forward to some rest and relaxation by the lake. This is the one week in the year when I truly do nothing...my mom takes care of everything...I just sit and read and nap :) Can't wait!

Today marks the start of a great promotion for new subscribers to Paper Pumpkin. Check this out:

Today I have another project I designed for my upcoming Suite of the Month class. This month we're focusing on the Naturally Eclectic Suite...

I so love the colours in this suite...bright and bold, but with soft watercoloured images...so pretty! Here I began with a piece of watercolour paper on which I did a quick wash using Night of Navy ink. Once it had dried, I used the embossing die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits to create the impression of the leaves in the watercolour paper. I love the subtle texture it adds.

The lattice is die-cut from silver foil once again using the Eclectic Layers dies. Because that die is designed to cut a window, I used my paper snips to cut out the lattice to use as an element on my card. The flowers are stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Bursy and Night of Navy ink. All are die-cut using the Eclectic Layers thinlits. The leaves are die-cut from vellum using the same die set.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and combines two different sentiments from the Oh, So Eclectic set. The only embellishments are some Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon and some Pearl Basic Jewels.

On the inside I stamped more flowers on the Whisper White panel using Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst inks, as well as another sentiment in Night of Navy. The card is built on a Lemon Lime Twist card stock base.

Did you know that I feature a different suite every month and that each month's class is available as a kit to go? Click the Upcoming Classes & Events tab above to learn more.
