Springtime Foil + Stampin' Blends = LOVE

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was busy, as always and I'm heading into festival week with my bands, so it's going to be a hectic one! Tonight I am holding my monthly Stampin' Blends Club and I thought I would share one of the projects we'll be making...

I couldn't resist showing my club gals how beautiful the new Springtime Foils DSP is when coloured with the Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends. I began by first colouring each flower in the lightest shade of Pink Pirouette and then added hightlights with the light shade of Calypso Coral. Then I added a hint of the dark shade of Pink Pirouette before blending with the light pink again. I love the result. The leaves are done with the light and dark Old Olive Blends. Soooo pretty!

The Whisper White background panel is embossed using the Garden Trellis TIEF. I used a sentiment from the Birthday Blooms stamp set, heat embossed in copper. I punched the sentiment with the Everyday Label punch and then layered it on a mat created with the Pretty Label punch from copper foil. This was such a pretty and feminine card I couldn't resist adding some Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim and some Calypso Coral Sale-a-bration Shimmer ribbon. The final touch was a few copper sequins.
In the interest of keeping the class moving I opted to keep the inside simple, just adding a stamped sentiment from the Perennial Birthday set in Calypso Coral ink.

I can't wait to share this project with my club ladies...they're going to love it! Have a fabulous week!

Beautiful Brusho

Happy Saturday! Can you tell I'm on a bit of a Brusho kick lately? I just can't get enough of those magical crystals of colour. Today I want to share another one of the projects from my Brush up on Brusho class.

One of the things I love most about using Brusho is that you never really know what your project will end up looking like. It's so much fun to just apply the crystals to some watercolour paper, spritz and then watch the magic happen. When I created this background, I had no plans to use the Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-bration set, but the way the colour ended up spreading somehow inspired me to pull it out. I heat embossed the vines in gold over the darker-coloured areas on the background panel. I really like the flow and the movement they create. The background panel is matted on Old Olive card stock and then adhered to an Island Indigo card stock base.

The focal image peacock is also heat embossed in gold and the sentiment is stamped in Island Indigo ink. I used the Layering Ovals dies to die cut both the image and the gold foil mat behind it. I added some 1/8" metallic gold ribbon and a gold tassel for embellishement.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped some vines in Old Olive ink and little flowers in Island Indigo. I LOVE that teensy-tiny flower...it has to be the smallest stamp in my collection!

If you haven't yet tried Brusho I would encourage you to do so. It is SO much fun to play with and allow your creativity to really grow. Have a fabulous weekend...see you on Monday!

Brusho meets Blends!

Happy Mond....er...Tuesday! Today sure feels like a Monday after the long weekend! The good news is that it is already Tuesday and we're one day closer to Friday ;)
Today I have a card that may just be one of my favourites...like...ever! Check it out...

Isn't that just yummy???? Ugh...I can't even! When I opened my package of the new Springtime Foils DSP (part of the second round of Sale-a-bration offerings available NOW!), I couldn't resist trying it out with Brusho. I was in the midst of planning for upcoming classes focusing on Brusho and was on a bit of a roll. Anyhow...I sprinkled a little bit of Gamboge and Yellow on the DSP and then spritzed...magic happened! Once it had dried I decided to add some contrast to the flowers using my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends, and oh, my heavens, the result is simply stunning!

I wish my camera could better capture the gradiation of colour and the glossy finish...sooooo pretty! I added green to the leaves using the Old Olive Blends. I layered it on a Basic Black card stock base and added a sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday. The shimmery black ribbon is the perfect complement to the background. I added one more fussy-cut flower to the label and popper them both up for added dimension.

The inside is decidedly less exciting, as I simply added some Whisper White card stock and stamped another of the sentiments from the Picture Perfect set in Basic Black ink.

I am soooo in love with this look...stay tuned for more with this awesome new paper!
