A Christmas in July Fun Fold

Happy Christmas in July week! Although I am no where near ready to think about Christmas (or even the first day of school) yet, each summer I like to take a week and celebrate Christmas in July in honour of the launch of the July-December Mini Catalogue. So, last Saturday I held my annual Christmas in July Virtual Stamp Camp featuring the beautiful Boughs of Holly Suite. I've been sharing some of the projects we made over on my Instagram and Facebook accounts and I featured three fun projects in this week's Facebook Live. One of the projects I demonstrated was this fabulous Arrow Fold card...

Now, I'll admit, the first time I ever saw this fun fold I thought it was WAY too involved for me to try. But then I saw so many beautiful designs with it I decided to give it a go. That was a couple of years ago and I have been hooked ever since. It really isn't nearly as hard as it looks! And it is SO worth the effort.

On this design I really wanted to highlight the gorgeous Boughs of Holly Designer Paper. It truly does ALL of the work on this card. The poinsettia images are all fussy-cut from the DSP. The only thing I stamped is the sentiment label!

I used the Handmade Wishes bundle to stamp and punch my label. It is a bit of a hidden gem in the mini catalogue, but is fantastic! I love the shape of this label and all of the various sentiments and images included in the stamp set make it super-versatile. I'll definitely be using this one A LOT this season!

As I mentioned above, I demonstrated this card in this week's Facebook live video. The replay is posted below and all of the measurements are included in the video description:

Enjoy trying this fun fold...it really isn't too hard!

Thanks for stopping by today...have a great week!

It's a Sale-a-bration Blog Hop!

Happy Friday...who's ready for the weekend?? This weekend is a busy one for me! Today we are holding our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop AND our first-ever Instagram Hop and then tomorrow is the kick-off of my annual retired product BOGO sale. So much happening, so let's get to it!

This month our blog hop theme is Sale-a-bration and I have a fun little gift box and card duo to share...

Both the card and box are made using the Sale-a-bration card and envelopes! I LOVE when I can make cute projects using FREE product! Let's take a closer look...

For the card, I used one of the Soft Sea Foam card bases. The stitched rectangle layer is die-cut from one of the envelopes I disassembled. Those envelopes are printed on the inside and are just too pretty not to use on a project! I die-cut several of the botanical elements from Pool PArty and Soft Sea Foam card stock. The stamped images are stamped in Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam ink and then coloured with the light Stampin' Blends of the same shade. I die-cut the pot from a scrap of the gorgeous Splendid Day Designer Paper for a hit of glam.

My favourite part of this little duo is this adorable treat box. It measures 2-3/4" wide x 4" tall and is 3/4" deep. It is perfectly sized to hold chocolate, a gift card, handmade soaps, a cookie...so many possibilities! Here are the details...

I started with one of the Pool Party card bases from the Sale-a-bration cards and envelopes pack. Without folding the card base and with the long side of the card base at the top, I cut 3/4" off the non printed half of the card base. Then, I scored the printed half at 3-1/2".  Then I scored all four sides at 3/4". A quick snip of all of the flaps with my paper snips, some folding and adhesive and I had the cutest little mini shirt box.  I demonstrated this project in my Facebook live this week...you can see the replay on my YouTube channel...the video link is posted below.

To decorate the box I used more of the disassembled enveloped, some die-cuts and more of that gorgeous Splendid Day Designer Paper. I added a bit of Pool Party Sheer ribbon to tie the box closed, which adds the perfect bit of shimmer.

Here's the link to my video where I demonstrate these projects, along with two others. You'll want to start at about the 32:00 mark for the card and box demonstration. I've also included all of the measurements in the video description...just scroll down to see them!

Splendid Day Suite Fun Fold

Happy Wednesday! Yep...I'm finally on holidays and am going to make a concerted effort to get back to posting weekly. This school year has really kick my butt! Two plus years of Covid teaching through online, hybrid, quadmesters, modified semesters and all of the constant chaos that brought really wore me out. Add to that pivoting my Stampin' Up! business to be fully online and the steep learning curve that brought and it's no wonder I'm tired! I am so thankful for a few weeks to catch my breath and engage in a little self-care.

Today I have a fantastic fun fold made using the Splendid Day Suite from the new July-December Mini Catalogue. Check it out...

Now, I know it doesn't look very fun-foldy laying flat, but when it stands up, it has this cool pop-out panel that almost looks like it is floating...

I learned this fold from a video by Sue Campfield and it is so much fun! It's a great way to showcase the beautiful Splendid Day Designer Paper and still has lots of space for a focal image and sentiment. Here I've used die-cut botanical elements from the Splendid Stems dies. I love arranging them to create an eye-catching focal point. I also love that the stamped images are somewhat abstract, giving them a fun, modern vibe.

Here are the measurements for the parts and pieces for this card:

Basic White card stock:

4-1/4” x 5-1/2”

5-1/2” x 8”, scored at: 1-1/2", 2-3/4", 5-1/4" and 6-1/2"

3-1/2” x 5-1/2”

Splendid Day Designer Paper:

3/4” x 5-3/8” (2 pieces)

1-1/8” x 5-3/8” (2 pieces)

1-3/8” x 5-3/8”

3-3/8” x 5-3/8”

You'll also need crap Basic White, Soft Sea Foam and Fresh Freesia card stock for die-cutting

I demonstrated this card in my Facebook live this week. The replay is linked below. You'll want to start at about the 14:00 mark for this card.

Now before I go, I need to make a special announcement. Last week I successfully earned the 2023 Stampin' Up! incentive trip! Now I am obliged to tell you that this is something that is earned by only 1% of demonstrators worldwide...not to brag, but to make sure I'm not giving unrealistic claims about how easy it is to earn this trip! It's definitely A TON of hard work and takes the support of countless people, from my Stamping Symphony team, my customers and my family. As I mentioned at the top of this post, the past couple of years have been ROUGH, so earning this trip is that much sweeter. A HUGE thank you to all who have contributed to my success!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to pop in on Friday for our monthly Stamping Symphony Blog Hop...we're all about Sale-a-bration this month! Have a great week!
