Party Pants

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend! Mine was fabulous! It was amazing to spend time with my sweet friend Michelle Suit. We laughed, we cried and we stamped...a lot! There might have been some wine involved too ;)

We also worked on some upcoming events we are doing together...yup...you read it right! We will soon be announcing events that Canadian AND US demonstrators and Lovers-of-Stampin' Up will be able to attend. Stay tuned...SO exciting!!
Today I have one of the projects we designed this weekend for my monthly Tri-City Stampers Team meeting featuring one of the new-release Sale-a-bration sets called Party Pants...

Birthday card featuring the Party Pants stamp set
When I told Michelle that I had an idea for a card that featured a pair of pants she directed me to another of our stamping friends France Martin (aka Frenchie). She had posted a video the showed how to create a pair of punch art pants using the Washi Label punch...so simple and so brilliant! I punched two Washi Labels from gold glimmer paper, layered them slightly overlapped and secured with a glue dot. I added a little belt made from the new Metallic Glitter Tape, which is a new, limited-time Sale-a-bration product. I trimmed it into a narrow strip, applied it to my washi pants and added an Iced Rhinestone for a buckle. Talk about party pants...the Disco Era has nothing on these babies!

The Basic Black background layer is embossed using the Softly Falling TIEF. I added a strip of silver Metallic Glitter Tape before adhering it to a thick Whisper White card base. The labels are die-cut uising the Lots of Labels framelits from Whisper White card stock and gold foil sheets. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Party Pants Sale-a-bration stamp set in gold. I added a couple of balloons, punched from silver and gold glimmer paper using the Balloon Bouquet punch and used some coordinating metallic thread to anchor them at the base of the card.

On the inside I stamped another of the sentiments and the balloon strings from the Party Pants set in Basic Black ink. I added some more glimmer balloons because, well, there's just no such thing as too much bling! ;)

Have a fabulous week...last one for me before March Break...wahoo!

Celebrate March!

Can you believe it is already March?? Winter is nearly over...at least that's what the calendar says. Here, in Southern Ontario,  we are hunkering down for a big dump of snow tonight...our first of the season. That's pretty unusual for us crazy Canucks, so I guess we can't complain. Here's hoping that if March comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb and we have a nice mild Easter!

Today I have a project I designed for an upcoming class featuring the Balloon Celebration bundle...

Birthday card featuring the Balloon Celebration stamp set and coordinating Balloon Bouquet punch.
The photo of this card really doesn't do it justice...it sparkles and shines like crazy! I started with a piece of Shine On Specialty DSP...it really does shine. Those clouds are metallic silver...I love it against the neutral Kraft background. I layered a strip of Bermuda Bay DSP from the Have a Cuppa stack to act as a backdrop for my sentiment. I stamped a solid large balloon using the Balloon Celebration stamp set in Bermuda Bay and then punched it using the Balloon Bouquet punch. I then made it shine with my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush...so love that magical tool! It's like spreading pixie dust when I use that thing! The smaller balloon is punched from silver foil sheets, also using the Balloon Bouquet punch.

I added some silver metallic thread to the balloons and just left it hanging loose. I used an Expressions Natural wood element for the sentiment. What doesn't show in the photo is the fact that I also brushed that with the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush...sooo magical! The final touch, because there wasn't quite enough sparkle and shine on this card, were a few silver metallic sequins.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I added a couple of little bitty balloons punched using the Party Punch Pack from Have a Cuppa DSP and silver foil sheets. The little strings are from the Party Wishes stamp set and are stamped in Smokey Slate ink.

I hope you have a fabulous day...be sure to check out the new Weekly Deals...so AWESOME products on sale this week!

Bright Birthday Balloons

To me, nothing says "celebration" like a balloon bouquet. Where there are balloons, there is bound to be a party! Today's card makes me happy...

Birthday card featuring the Balloon Bouquet punch, Crazy About You stamp set and Hello You Thinlits.
Now, who wouldn't love to receive this card on their birthday? I drew my colour palette from the Cherry On Top DSP stack from the Annual Catalogue. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the new products from the seasonal catalogues, I forget all about the AWESOME goodies in the Annual Catty. No more! I love the bright colours: Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and crisp Whisper White. I began with a piece of DSP and stamped the balloon strings in Basic Black ink. Then I went to work with my Balloon Bouquet punch and punched several balloons from card stock and DSP to complete my bouquet.

I layered the front panel on a piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock and then mounted it on a panel ow Whisper White card stock that I had embossed using the Confetti TIEF. The card is built on a Bermuda Bay card base.
The sentiment, from the Crazy About You stamp set, is stamped in Basic Black ink. The die-cut sentiment is done in silver glimmer paper using the Hello You Thinlits. The only embellishment I added was a little bow made with Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon...love that stuff! Here's hoping we see it in more colours in the next Annual Catalogue!

On the inside I embossed the bottom edge of a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Confetti TIEF again. I stamped the sentiment from the Greatest Greetings set in Basic Black. I think it is perfect because this card just makes me smile!
I hope your week has been filled with smiles so far! Have a great day!!
