Thanks So Much

Happy Monday...and happy Halloween! While we are not big Halloween people in our house, my son certainly does enjoy dressing up and visiting his friends' houses for tricks and treats. I'm sure tonight will be TONS of fun!
Today I have a shaker card I designed a while back, but neglected to share with you. It uses the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and coordinating framelits.

I stamped the wreath in Crushed Curry and then the accent leaves in Cherry Cobbler...they turn rust-coloured when layered on the yellow. The window on for the shaker was die-cut using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. The die-cut sentiment is from the Hello You Thinlits and the stamped sentiments if from the coordinating Crazy About You stamp set. I used Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate for the window on the shaker and filled the shaker with sequins. The background is Kraft card stock that I embossed using the Petal Burst TIEF.

On the inside of the card I simply stamped along the bottom edge with the accent leaves stamp from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set using Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler ink.

I love making shaker cards...they are such fun!! Have marvelous Monday and a wonderful week!

First Day

Well, my life just got a whole lot busier. School starts today and I am right back to the craziness. Here's hoping for a good year!
My son starts grade four this year...not sure how that happened! Here is a shot from his back-to-school photo shoot:

Every year I make a card to tuck in his backpack on the first day because, being a teacher, I can't be there to see him off. (I think that is one of the hardest things about this job...missing out on important stuff with my own kid!) Last night before he went to bed he asked if I had made him a card...I told him he'd just have to wait and see ;)

Now, it isn't often that I share a project that uses so much retired product, but there are some projects that require tried-and-true favourites. I used DSP from the School House pack from last year's catalogue for the background panels. That stuff is going to be hoarded safely stored away for years to come! I added the die-cut sentiments with the Hello You Thinlits cut from Real Red and Pacific Point card stock. The stamped sentiment is from the LONG-retired First Day stamp set...that's another one that won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

The die-cut number four is done with the Large Numbers Framelits. I added a mini paper clip from my stash and some Real Red Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine from the Holiday catty.

The inside features more retired stamps. I used the Words of Truth stamp set for the sentiments and the A+ image at the bottom is from the First Day set. I know my boy will love his card...he is my biggest fan!

Don't forget to check out the new Special Offers...Week Two starts today!

Have a terrific Tuesday.

Today also marks the start of three weeks of Special Offers. There is a selection of products on sale for 25% off! This week is all about embellishments. Check them out below:

Today I have a cute card to welcome the new catalogue and the new season...

Isn't that little scarecrow the cutest?? He is from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set, which coordinates with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and punch bundle. Talk about versatility and product coordination! Stampin' Up! is THE BEST when it comes to that! Here, I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Then I coloured the image using Old Olive, Island Indigo, Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Rich Razzleberry markers. I used the Cookie Cutter Builder punch to punch it out.

I mounted my scarecrow on a post cut from Early Espresso card stock and added a little copper metallic thread behind him.

The background behind the focal image is a 3" x 4" piece of Kraft card stock that I embossed using the Petal Burst TIEF and matted on a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Cajun Craze card stock. The card base is Delightful Dijon. I stamped it all over using the leaves from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set and Delightful Dijon ink. The die-cut sentiment is cut from Cajun Craze card stock using the Hello You Thinlits. The stamped sentiment is from the Project Life Date It stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink.

On the inside I added a piece of Very Vanilla card stock on which I stamped more leaves blowing across the bottom edge.

I'll be offering this card at an upcoming class this fall, but why wait till then? The Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle is fabulous and the Cookie Cutter Halloween is the perfect compliment to make these products ones you'll use all year.

Have a thrilling Thursday!
