Trimming the Town Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. Here we have had a string of absolutely GORGEOUS summer-like days. Sunshine and mild temperature are SO special in November. I'm back to wearing my sandals to work! Although it seems odd to be working on Christmas cards with warm temperatures like these, that is exactly what I have been doing. I turned my attention this week to the Trimming the Town suite...

One of the things I love about this suite is the DSP pack. It has so many fun images and patterns and I adore the bright colours. There is even an entire sheet of holiday sentiments in several languages that can be snipped out for use on projects. Many of the images also can be die-cut using the Home Together Dies. I challenged myself to make a card using NO stamped images (gasp!)...here is what I came up with:

It's nothing special when closed, but when opened you get a fun surprise...

I love this fun take on an easel card! I was inspired by a project by Mitosoucrafts  and couldn't resist trying it with this fun suite. Getting this look is actually surprisingly easy...it just takes a bit of creating cutting plate placement with the die-cutting machine. Can you believe that every single image and sentiment on this card is from the DSP?? Not an ink pad in sight!

I used the Winter Snow embossing folder on the front panel and the So Many Snowflakes dies for my dangling snowflake...

I opted to leave the inside panel blank to allow space to write a message.

I will be demonstrating this card and two other fun folds in today's Live @ Five video at 5 pm ET over on my Facebook business page. If you miss the live broadcast, the recording will be posted to my YouTube channel shortly afterwards. Included in both videos posts will be measurements for all three projects.

Thanks for stopping by this week...make it a good one!

Happy Tails!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was blissfully quiet...I truly appreciate those, as they are few and far between! I finished planning the projects for my new online class and am SUPER excited about it! I'll have more info to share in the next couple of days, but in the meantime, here is a sneak peek at one of the projects I'll be making with my Wine Not Stampers Club this week...

Last month several club members ordered the Happy Tails bundle and asked if we could do a project or two that featured it this month. Happy to oblige, I designed this cute easel card. Here's a look at it opened up...

I absolutely adore this cute puppy dog from the Happy Tails stamp set! vI used my Smokey Slate Blends to colour him in, after stamping him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Dog Builder punch to punch him out. The bowl is actually from the Nine Lives stamp set, which is also in the Occasions Catalogue. I stamped it in Tuxedo Black as well, coloured it with the Balmy Blue Blends and then fussy cut it out.

I love the way these two stamp sets work together...and that they both have coordinating punches! If you love them too you'll want to be sure to check back later this week when I'll be announcing my new online class..."Going to the Dogs" (and Cats!) I can't wait to share the details with you!

In the meantime, be sure to check out my Tuesday Live @ Five video over on Facebook this week where I'll be showcasing this bundle with two more ca-ute projects. Have a great week!

Thanks So Much

Happy Monday...and happy Halloween! While we are not big Halloween people in our house, my son certainly does enjoy dressing up and visiting his friends' houses for tricks and treats. I'm sure tonight will be TONS of fun!
Today I have a shaker card I designed a while back, but neglected to share with you. It uses the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and coordinating framelits.

I stamped the wreath in Crushed Curry and then the accent leaves in Cherry Cobbler...they turn rust-coloured when layered on the yellow. The window on for the shaker was die-cut using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. The die-cut sentiment is from the Hello You Thinlits and the stamped sentiments if from the coordinating Crazy About You stamp set. I used Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate for the window on the shaker and filled the shaker with sequins. The background is Kraft card stock that I embossed using the Petal Burst TIEF.

On the inside of the card I simply stamped along the bottom edge with the accent leaves stamp from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set using Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler ink.

I love making shaker cards...they are such fun!! Have marvelous Monday and a wonderful week!
